Draxo
Hello folks. Long time lurker, long time lover of the X-Com series.. I was playing my collectors edition of the game rescently, and I just boguht a new monitor. Ive been playing it fine for a long time.. but my new monitor is a widescreen, set to 1440 x 900. Wonderful mnitor. but te thing is, I cant seem to get my X-Com running on it =( I get the error 'Out of Range' I have tried reverting to 1024 x 768, which was the resolution on my old monitor, but even that does not work. Does anyone have any help or suggestions? It is a monitor problem by the way.. I get the feeling that it just can not display such an old game that is made for older resolutions. if there is some kind of way to get X-com running non-fullscreen, such as in a window or somesuch, that might work? I dont know.. Thanks for any help. I'm an X-Com fanatic, I just cant think of not getting to play! Edited September 7, 2007 by Draxo
Darkhomb
Out of range also includes refresh rate.. CRT monitors normally have a refresh rate higher then 60.. you need to drop it down to 60 for LCD's
Draxo
Wow, that worked! Thank you so much. Now to send off my Avenger to take out the sixth Alien base. This time vs Etherials. Hopefully my psi's can manage it
cceller
I do not get the Out of Range error, I get a totally black screen (but I can hear everything running fine). I am on a 22 " Widescreen with a refresh of 60 - any ideas? Thanks!
