Do you have a full pic of the Deep One instead of partial views? That would be cool. :)

Well, I don't know....

People here don't seem to appreciate my stuff as much as I thought they would, and I really get the feeling people aren't as deep into X-COM as much as Star Wars. Sorry, that's just kinda how I feel.

That, and I don't have that much to show. I'm kinda embarrassed about it. In fact, one of the Apocalypse aliens I've been working on was with me for two years now. Sometimes I work on it, and sometimes I don't and go for something else.

But you guys have been great and I promise I'll keep posting more images in the future.

Here's the full image of the Deep One, I don't know how I forgot it:

Oh, by the bye, if you can, can any of you send screenshots of the inside of Mega Primus' Buildings? Like the hospital or mall? Or the place that looks like a park (You know, the place mothers and fathers wait for there baby to be born)? I know it would be asking too much for the whole map, but it would really help. :)

Good things take time, as with art.

These days the forums are often idle so there's not going to be that much good or bad feedback to go around. Just another of the ebbs in activity.

It's unfortunate, but X-COM is a very niche title compared the to likes of the Star Wars or Star Trek titles, which are well entrenched series/franchises that have legions of fans all over the world - even in places you've never even head of. ;)

Thank you localhosed, this means a lot to me. I mean, you must have not only booted up the game, but openly attack a Hospital to get these shots! I hope they aren't too angry; sometimes you need pain to make art.

Too bad you couldn't find the room with robots around a bed, it was my favorite part of the Hospital. It had a glass ceiling, in which there was a room filled with chairs. But forget about that. For helping me, I'm going to show you two things:

One of the aliens I was working on:
http://i30.tinypic.com/2cz52zs.jpg

And the site of Tim White: THE creator of the Apocalypse Aliens:

It's not just that, but the hatred they have for the Prequels. I sometimes wish that same hatred was here in the X-COM fanbase, and someone, once in a while, would say something really bad about Interceptor.

Not that I care about how terrible Interceptor is, but when a stupid fanboy says and does things like this:
http://bluray.ign.co.../938562p23.html
http://i.gizmodo.com...t-our-childhood
http://i.gizmodo.com...ge-lucas-tattoo

It makes me want to pull my hair out, and turn an Evil Red eye to the X-COM fans and scream: STOP BEING SO LAZY, AND COMPLAIN FOR YOUR F*CKING GAME, DAMMIT!

Really, The Star Wars Fanboys don't have a leg to stand on. I can't imagine them telling us that we are so lucky to have Interceptor when all they have is the Prequels. And about the whole "George Lucas rape my childhood/ It isn't as good as the old ones" thing, I think this quote says it all:

---------
I've asked around about this and the answer I usually got was "expectations." Most people could go into TRANSFORMERS with no expectations and when they were given a load of moronic horse s*it they just though, "well, I guess that's what TRANSFORMERS is supposed to be." But with INDIANA JONES everybody has memories of those movies, everybody wants a certain thing out of them, wants this one to be perfect, or doesn't want this one to exist unless it can be magically transported to their childhood and they can remember it fondly while polishing the vintage CRYSTAL SKULL Burger King glasses they got on ebay.
http://www.geocities...l#crystal_skull
---------

(BTW, Transformers sucked too.)

Well, at least Ken Levine may be on the job:
http://www.gamespot....eatures;title;1

GO Ken Levine! You can do whatever you want to X-COM! Just make something playable!

This isn't much, but I wanted you guys to see this.

This image was rendered with Ray-Tracing for 35 seconds, using LightWave 7:

This image was rendered with Ray-Tracing, and Radiosity, AND Enhanced AA for 9 hours, using LightWave 7:

I didn't add any new lights to the scene, that's what Radiosity can do.

Wow nice helmet, and I think building. I don't recognize it but it definitely looks as the buildings and other objects do.
I remember playing with programs like bryce and lightwave years ago just to see the smooth surfaces they could make like the ones on your building.
Do you intend to make Marsec armor too?

It is an interesting difference between radiosity on/off. I remember ATI/AMD showed a live rendered radiosity demo on a radeon card some time ago. Will definetly have some impact when it is introduced on a wide range in games.
Keep smiling while dying

Of course I have gone mad with power! It would be completely ridiculous to go mad without power!
And no, this is not a quote from the Simpson's movie, I want it on paper, that I actually wrote that quite some time before the movie came out.

Thanks, the building you speak of is in the game. In the UFOpaedia.

Do you intend to make Marsec armor too?

I must confess: the objects (helmet, building) are years old. I wanted to continue it, but ZBrush came out, and I didn't know what to do with it anymore. Maybe when I get Lightwave 9 I'll finish it.

Yes, I've seen those. But that wasn't real radiosity. I think it was Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (Crysis) or something like it. I'm sure it wasn't real because we can't even do Real-time Ray-Tracing.

But your right, ATI/AMD will make a BIG impact with their new Radeon card:

Well, um.... that's not what I had in mind, but thanks anyways. :D

But please, continue complaining about anything you want. Just not The Star Wars Prequels.

I'm sorry but the Tentaculat looks too much like a Grell from Dungeons and Dragons. I don't like doing rip-offs, you see.

But I'll put it at the end of my to-do list.

The models are all in Zbrush, how are you going to get them to Garry's mod?

Zbrush is what I used to make my models:

I don't know anything about converting models, but I can try if you want.

In order to get them in a state where they can be converted for Garry's mod, they need to be: 3dsmax format, milkshape format, or if you find out how then make them into the smd format valve games use.
