Deathskull
Have you ever been in a situation where youve just finished an artifact site with your only troop carrier and then right after your done a terror site pops up? It will disappear before your triton can refuel so what are you to do? Ever notice when you have a sub en route to a crashed uso or a terror site, it never disappears? If you dont want to lose the terror site, send a barracuda out. If the barracuda is almost there before your triton is refueled send out the other barracuda (you didnt sell/lose your second barracuda did you?). By then your triton should be refeuled and ready to go. Just send it out and call the barracudas back.

j'ordos
It works for both, but we're definitely going to make sure it does NOT work in Xenocide  edit: it's also great if you don't like terror missions in the night Edited November 30, 2003 by j'ordos
Deathskull
It it will not work in xenocide then make sure it doesnt have 2 terror sites at once
Cpl. Facehugger
Thats what I've been trying to say, but it doesn't look like its going to happen.
j'ordos
Aww c'mon, you whiners :wink:Â We want to have some challenge now do we? That'll be an extra incentive to get a second skyranger in the air as soon as possible
SupSuper
i use that trick to avoid missions being too dark. i like dark, but too dark is just nasty
j'ordos
Well, I do too, but that's the main reason we should not allow it in Xenocide, I never do a mission at night anymore as I can just send an interceptor to the site and wait till it's light again to land my skyranger
[[Micah]]
I can imagine superhuman throwing 3 terror sites in your face at once, then a battleship assaulting your base while you're out to boot. That would be intense.
Deathskull
So are you suggesting we need 3 tritons, atleast 1 barracuda, atleast 40 aquanats and atleast 40 guass rifles with clips, medikits and grenades for every base? [stewart]
Are you sure I seem to recall sending a skyranger to a terrorsite and then it was gone by the time I showed up.
Puasonen
Are you sure I seem to recall sending a skyranger to a terrorsite and then it was gone by the time I showed up.That's impossible. It's a known fact, it won't dissapear if there's going a skyranger/triton/whatever.Maybe you missclicked and were going to waypoint?
mikker
Maybe you missclicked and were going to waypoint? argh, yes instead of following the damn ufo, it just stod there

I do use way-points to make the routes follow great circle routes more closely.
Puasonen
Well that's the answer then. You weren't going to the terror site, you were going to the waypoint and the stupid game thought you were just cruising with your brand new skyranger
Trevelyan
I can imagine superhuman throwing 3 terror sites in your face at once, then a battleship assaulting your base while you're out to boot. That would be intense. GG unfairness, Perhaps Xenocide should start with a manditory Base attack   "Its been an honor serving with you all for the first 3 minutes of Xenocide on Superhuman... Shall we gentelmen?"  *Blaster Bombs rain from the sky as muttons run everywhere with Heavy plasma gunning down T-shirted rookies with pistols* Edited December 1, 2003 by Trevelyan
[[Micah]]
I think it would be hilarious to have that happen only the first time you ever choose superhuman. Then after your first terrible defeat, the game tones down with the next new superhuman game

Puasonen
I think it would be hilarious to have that happen only the first time you ever choose superhuman. Then after your first terrible defeat, the game tones down with the next new superhuman game or maybe we should make one more difficulty level, "impossible" where you have no chance at all winning the game. 20+ ethereals with blaster launchers at the first landed small ufo or something like that It would be like a "survivor game" where you could try to beat other xenocide players time! You can't win but how long can you fight on before your funding is stopped. (no loading possible and we could post those times here!)
