So let do a game then.
LOL! Where have you been tgfx?

But seriously, game called Xenocide is almost about a year as in development. Here is the site: www.projectxenocide.com. If you are serious about making a game, then why don't you join us? We would be glad to have you on the team.

Nah, we would just ban you to keep it quiet :P

But seriously, how long do you think the game is supposed to take? And if the game is not like the original, what do you think it's supposed to be like?

Here, you won't gain any converts from the converted, tqfx.

The thing is this...We aren't a professional development team. That is probably a good thing. How many games have you played that are rushed out unfinished? Games take time to make, and this is our hobby not our day job, we devote quite a fair bit of our spare time on this but not at the cost of our social lives. Personally I work from 7:30 until 4:00 and spend my weekdays helping here, plus whatever spare weekend time I have, I would imagine it is the same with others. Yeah it's going to take a while but we are making progress, ever heard of EDF? They are doing a simular thing, have been working for 7 years and haven't got much further than us. It will get done but we ( or at least as my impression ) want a good game at the end of it, not just a rushed game that is what you see a lot of the time these days.

As to the being too simular to UFO, basically the plan is to make something pretty simular to that game first then make improvements once we have something to actually test it on. So the finished article wll become it's own game. Hope that helps :)

 how can i say No to those cute eyes...I'll look at how far your guys have gotten in the development but if i join I would put everything into this game and would expect no less from the others.
I worked on 2 other games so i know what looks good and i can make everything look good. I worked on Trade Wars and a small game i started a long time ago titan wars which was dead due to funding.
I am a designer. I am a pro in the web design but have my fingers into everything like 3D design and animation and photo development, character design, story writer and so on.

Repost your last post in the topic that J'ordos and Jim linked to. Then you will gain project recruit status, at which point you can see where we really work. You might also take some time to look through the project's homepage: http://www.projectxenocide.com/ to get information on our goals and also on project organization.

I just typed 'x-com' in the google and this site did not come on first 10 pages.
'xenocide' came up on the first page though...

is that possible to put some keywords in the search engines to increase visibility of the project?

EDIT: googlebot is doing his work well. search for 'mamutas' yelded several links pointing to this forum. :) Edited by mamutas
