1) I am new of UFO2000, but if i remember well, the original Ufo:EU, when it was not your turn computer focus on:

- possible sounds heard by own soldiers
- visible/audible firing action
- visible movements of the enemy

I know that, when you are experienced theese things are less important, but it's only a suggestion ;)

2) Tanks and other 4Square units arent usable?
Why? programming problems?

It is a known feature request: http://ufo2000.lxnt..../view.php?id=11

Surprisingly, this feature request has not been submitted in mantis yet :)

Implementing every feature requires some time. You can view the list of known bugs/feature requests/tasks here: http://ufo2000.lxnt....ll_bug_page.php

We have not too many developers and they are not paid for their work on ufo2000, they do not have that much free time to work on the game either. Some features are considered more important than the others. But you can try to convince the developers to change tasks priority. Or even better - implement a feature you want that much yourself and submit a patch :)

There are some comments. Also most class/function/variable names are self explanatory, or at least they seem such to me :) I agree that commenting the sources and keeping them clean is very important, so lack of comments is not intentional, we just don't have enough time for everything. If any part of sources is not very clear for you, just tell me, I will add more comments there.

i am almost good in C/C++, but i never programmed a graphical environment, typically command line or interfaces.
i am interested in this project, so, if i can help, in my freetime i can give a hand :)

or at least: if i realize that coding Ufo2k is too difficult for me, i can write the comments :P
