roguetiger
After 3 battles the Skyranger lands and I outfit the troops. As either a tank or a troop steps out of the skyranger the games crashes. Is there any way to fix this. I'm using XP pro if that makes a difference. roguetiger
What version of the game? Dos? - ZombieD'oh! sorry.. its the CE version and using fodders graphics fix to play it with. Seems every other time someone/thing moves off the Ranger its crashes. Played it on XP reg just fine. But got a different computer and reinstalled it and seems to be having probs now.
Zombie
I play the CE version on my XP Pro machine all the time with few problems (although, I don't use fodders fix, I turn off direct draw manually). Have you tried loading a different save? As a last resort, try reinstalling the game again, though I have a feeling it is just a corrupt save. - Zombie Edited November 19, 2009 by Zombie
[NKF]
It's probably not a corrupt save. My experience with CE on my now defunct tower PC was the same. After every 2 or 3 missions the game would crash when stepping out the Skyranger/Lightning. This only ever happened when I played all the missions straight in one sitting - without quitting the game. Might be PC hardware issues or just the in-memory game data is getting unstable. Restarting the game and reloading from the last save clears up this problem just fine. Beyond that, saving between battles is a really good habit to get into. Come to think of it, something similar used to happen in the Dos version as well. Only it was more problematic as it would render first-turn battlescape saves unrecoverable beyond dusting off from the battle. - NKF Edited November 20, 2009 by NKF
