Gozmoth
Hi. I always get the "walk on metal" sound, whatever surface my soldiers are walking on. I just dont know what to do to fix it. I have checked the sticky posts but there is nothing on this issue. Is someone out there who can help me? I have tried with the steam version and with an "abandonware" version found on the internet on two different computers. Thanks. Topper Harley
I have the same problem when I play on dosbox... annoys the heck out of me. Although I get the proper sounds when playing the windows version.
[NKF]
I've actually experienced this a few times as well, but in each case it was when I was deliberately playing it in French or German to see if I could still play it in a language I couldn't read. Going clang clang clang while walking on grass was quite a strange experience. I have no real solutions to offer, but a few things you could try include readjusting your soundcard settings via the game's setup program in Dosbox. Maybe use less sound channels 4 instead of 8. The other thing is to adjust the CPU cycles in Dosbox, as weird combinations of CPU cycles tend to affect older games like X-COM in strange and unpredictable ways. - NKF
