Sectoid
Personally, I prefer TFTD on playstation rather than PC. Just because it has better graphics.. and i dunno.. i recon waiting for the missions to load r betta and also you cant really cheat (not that i do on PC ). Zombie
The PC version of TFTD is very good for modding (and loading). But the Playstation? I'd be the first one on the block to buy a PSX version. Sadly, it was only released overseas (Europe) in the PAL version. I looked into purchasing this game a while back, but was horrified to learn that PAL formatted games will not run under NTSC hardware. And even with a PAL Playstation, I'm unsure whether an image will be displayed on my NTSC television set. Bummer. Is it that much better than the PC version? Yes and no. Reloading times are almost prohibitive for the PSX. It takes a very long time. Reloads are practically instantaneous on a PC. You can't do any modding on a PSX either. But these "bad" points can also be good. Running this game on PSX forces a player to learn valuable strategic lessons quick, because reloading takes way too much time. In addition, cheating is pretty tough with the PSX version too. (Yes, you could cheat, but you need a GameShark disc to do so). For the time being, I'll get along with my PC version of the game. :wink1: - Zombie
Sporb
it is possible to get de-zoning gear. For gamecube there is a CD that helps the system run on PAL systems (somthing to do with the way tv's scan etc). not sure bout psx but there might be a similar fix
Zombie
Well, I'm sure there may be a fix to this problem. From what I remember, it is a circuit board you manually solder into the PSX unit. However, most of these boards are manufactured primarily to defeat copy protection and are therefore illegal to own. I should research this to find if there is a legal way (hopefully software) to convert a PAL formatted game to an NTSC signal. - Zombie
