Ok this mission is a downed Terror ship, Snakemen/Cryssalid, during the day (game difficulty Superhuman, but this is a super advanced file... so i am rich by now). I just randomly decided to record it with a few key pictures. Tons of rookies with a few Sargents and my Uber Psyonics guy (he is in the flying suit)

1st turn begins...

First wave deployed. First guy out sees a snakemen to the left, MCed him, turned around and walked till reaction fire from aliens seen. Saw a snakemen on the roof, MCed him, turned around and saw ANOTHER snakemen. Disarmed the 2 MCed Snakemen and threw a bunch of rookie fired autoshots at the 2nd snakeman on the roof. Sent a few men out to the right when i found a snakeman hiding in the building right next to the avenger. MCed him and only found one other snakeman behind the building he was in.

So far 2 Dead Snakemen, 3 disarmed and harmless snakemen, still haven't set up a defensive perimiter around the BS lift.

Turn 2

Contained the North side of the BS by setting up some people looking around each corner with reaction TUs saved. Started a northward rush towards two buildings to the left of the avenger where the first snakemen were. Moved out enough to allow room for a small 2nd squad to be deployed safely.

Turn 3 (continued):

2nd squad rushes north to support the guy i sent up for cover to set up a search of the building those snakemen were on. Doing the same to the east of the avenger, nothing found in shacks east of the avenger, so i moved them to start sweeping around the bottom of the battleship to clear the west side of the battleship.

nice mission. I'd probably give it a 7/10. For a BS mission it was pretty easy only 11 aliens killed. I expect that it is due in a large part because the ship looked quite damaged after crashing. Would have been higher if the mission was more challangeing, ie a landed BS. Lack of agression also lost you marks. It was a very concervative method for fighting a battle and wouldn't always work. I think that becomeing accustomed to thinking in concervative terms would be very detrimental on a mission where speed is important such as a terror mission involveing the same snakemen chryssalid combo or even a BS assult with Ethrels or Sectoids. I have also found that relying on the recation fire of rookies is a very dangerous roll of the dice. They just arn't reliable enough untill you start getting average reactions in the high 30's and accuracy scores of 50+

This was a really cool idea. If the mods arn't against it I'd enjoy posting some of my missions both good and bad to get feedback on them.

ummmm errr.... i posted that! Edit, posted my text in my post.

"nice story. all that was missing was the soldiers talking"

dont give me ideas <_<

"It was a very concervative method for fighting a battle and wouldn't always work."

I agree, but this was a training mission with all rookies and a few sargents with my uber psyonics guy (who did nothing but MC the mission), and i didn't know how many cryssalids there were. Also note the lack of casualties on my side, thus everyone lives to fight again to get better and better :).

It took about 5 minutes to complete in real time, so i thought it went fast enough.

The only reason i think the admins would be against this is because on especially longer missions, you take lots of pics just to get the bare bones of the story (notice i described often what was happening off screen). Those pics take up webspace, so perhaps when they die (ie roll off the page) they could be deleted or stored elsewhere. But hey, if the admins are cool with it, i would be more then happy to show you a real mission with the best of the best, or perhaps i would start a new superhuman game from the beginning ;)

(also it would rule to see how you guys play :D )

The size of your pics was good, try to keep them to 20K or less and having up to 5-6 per review isn't an issue. I would suggest a pic of the final score screen, and then just pics that show something hard to describe with words.

Decent BS assault considering the use of rookies. I agree that points are lost for not entering the BS, you could have sat there quite a while if they didn't come to you or kill themselves. Imagine an imporved AI that only fires blaster bombs when the door's open, and you might have lost a couple per shot. I would have given brownie points if you had sent a single brave soul in to get MC line of sight, then controlled the rest in the ship, brought them down to the entrance and open the door, then have all your soldiers lined up like a firing line to mow them down. :devillaugh:

Thnx stewie, never thought of that.

Ok so if you want to post your own missions you have to:

A.) Convert the pics into Jpegs (should keep them under the limit)

B.) Post no more then 10 pictures, try to keep them around 6-8 if you can.

C.) take One picture of the end mission screen

D.) Go do some! i wanna read someone else's mission :D

i give you a 8/10

i wish you had more aliens. but what i like in your mission is the way you surrrounded the entrance and camped

are those the only soldiers you have or more left at the base?? ^_^

There's nothing wrong with a conservative approach, at all; they do it in the real world. I can recall watching Gulf War II this spring they showed an american tank unit dealing with some Iraqi defenders in some warehouse they took about 3 hours to deal with them; the Iraqis only had small arms and the Yanks had tanks.

As for rushing in terror missions, bah humbug. Civilians be damned first priority is keep your soldiers alive, second is kill aliens, civies come third. Recall that somewhere else in the forums I said one of the best strategies for dealing with terror missions is to not. In my case if I'm willing to let the aliens have their fun at a terror site then if I bother to show-up what do I care if civies die.

Go slow, the only thing wrong with the strategy is that it's more boring than being reckless.

You lost no one not even injuries and it was a battleship ... 10

you'll probably see some in my The Superhuman Experience thread.

i save in PNG since it's the best relation between size and quality. a 640x400 screenshot (i resize them for better viewing) with full quality is 15kb, smaller than your JPEGs of half the size :P

Could you provide a link so other people can use that? ^_^
