Hey, I'm still rather new to checking out this project (and would be interested in helping where I can, someone contact me if something's up) I was just curious if any forms of multi-player (vs. but especially co-op) were being planned for the distant future releases (close to the final release)
Looks great so far everyone! I'm really glad to see this much interest in this kind of project :)

Hey, thanks for your interest, alienjon! We're very happy to receive it. :)

As far as multiplayer is concerned... I think it is, at the moment, a V1+ (post Version 1) issue. That means yes, there are plans for it, but they are a long way off. Currently, we're trying to get the basics done (e.g. the features found in the original X-Com) before adding new ideas. However, the Laboratory forums were created specifically for ideas about what to implement in far future releases.

Although I haven't tried it myself, I think UFO2000 (forums are here) does offer multiplayer. But don't take my word for it; I haven't gotten around to playing it yet. :D

If you're serious about helping Project Xenocide out, please refer to these links for more information:

As always, we look forward to help where ever we can find it. :P

Yes, UFO2000 is exclusively multiplayer, IIRC.

UFO2000 is exclusively multiplayer game right now and a fully featured x-com inspired game including single player mode in plans, the final goal is not much different from Xenocide in fact ;) And that's probably offtopic here...
