Gamenode
I downloaded the musfix.dll but I am not sure what to do with it. I put it in the ufo directory, but I have noticed no change. I was hoping it would fix the music so it would play during the intro and during the game. Any suggestions?
[[Micah]]
It was designed to fix the click-pause sound error that most people experience with the collector's edition on the game on XP.
Ufo_Enforcer
I think you must copy the musfix.dll in the main folder of Ufo Defense.. To me i can't see a difference if i installed the musfix.dll or not

[[Micah]]
Everytime I used to click on a button in the game which was supposed to make a sound, the game would freeze for a half-second, stutter the sound effect, and then continue on. It was really a pain when I was trying to breeze through the menus.
Guest General Hammond
Well, I have that musicfix.dll, but it doesn't fix the bug. It's a real pain. I have collector edition, where is the official page of it? And win2k
[[Micah]]
Official page of what? The Collector's Edition? The musfix.dll? This place is about as good as it gets...
Guest General Hammond
Official page of what? The Collector's Edition? The musfix.dll? This place is about as good as it gets...<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Mmm, I was talking about musicfix, but I guess that's a dumb question ,since I know you have only to copy the file into XCOM1 folder (where I have UFO Defense.exe) and it has been said. So forgive my dumb question.I wanted to ask not that, but if I were not the only with that problem not being solved and a new musicfix.dll after the one I got. Thanks
[[Micah]]
Okay, I understand you now. In the latest version of f0dder's loader, he got rid of the stand-alone musfix.dll file and incorporated that code along with additional code into a file called patch.dll. I suggest you download the latest version:http://www.xcomufo.com/xcom_bugfix091.zipI'm not saying it will work for you, but it's worth a shot. You might also consider using the xcom ET patch:http://www.xcomufo.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4469
Guest General Hammond
I had yet the 0.91 bugfix, and the other seems to have solved it, but it goes too far below the screen so I can't see the lower statistics of my soldiers in combat or small objects in bottom rows of the floor when equipping. P.D.- What does mean registering? In some place it seems that's for developing a game project, in other places it seems to me another thing. Is there some responsibility if registering? [[Micah]]
There is no responsibility in registering here. In addition to X-COM forums, xcomufo.com hosts the forums for Project Xenocide and UFO2000. You can be a member of these forums without being a member of those projects. I'm not certain what to do about the picture being off the screen. I'll assume you tried to adjust your monitor settings... if you can access your display adaptor's settings (through the Control Panel, probably), you might be able to further adjust the position and shape of the display. Admiral Harkov
I couldn't do it. Well, I'll stick using either the f0dder loader or running dxdiag myself. Thanks
Admiral Harkov
Hey! Now I notice it says for pauses when you click on some buttons. I have not those, what I have is one sec of pause when the game reaches the end of the midi and rewinds it.
[[Micah]]
That is definitely a different error.
SupSuper
Hey! Now I notice it says for pauses when you click on some buttons. I have not those, what I have is one sec of pause when the game reaches the end of the midi and rewinds it.i believe that happens with 90% of all programs. it's not a bug, the game just takes a bit of time (depending on cpu) to reload the music, which "pauses" the game
Admiral Harkov
Yes, I thought it was caused by slow machine, until I misunderstood that thing of the bug and thought it meant that thing. Then I noticed the bug was another thing and what I have a slow machine issue, as I though first. So no bug.
