Guest Guest
Alright. I had my laptop set up to play apocalypse properly before. I used the nocd patch, and vdmsound. Now, I had a cmapaign going, when suddenly I had to send the thing in for some repairs, which apparently included new drivers for a new monitor. What happens now is, during the screen wherein VDMSound is 'loading', it stays there, in red text. Yet, I can hear the game running, and hitting escape ran the 'button press' sound, and quit, so I presume the game is running, just the 'text screen' is hogging the monitor, somehow. No idea why. And yes, I really mean it when I say that the text all turns red. I have a save going, so I dont want to do a reinstall of the game itself. Already tried reinstalling VDMSound, to no avail. j'ordos
Check if you have the latest drivers for your monitor, or try a previous version of those drivers. Can you alt-tab to the xcomapoc exe after it is loaded?
Guest Guest
I load with xcom3.bat. But yes, I can alt-tab. Its like everything works fine, but the text of DOS (or, the winXP equivalent) shadows over the game itself. Alt-tabbing brings me to windows, no problems there displaywise, but alt-tabbing back does nothing.
