I tried following the various fixes outlined in this thread http://www.xcomufo.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=841 But when I download the files for the mouse and Xcom3crk winzip is telling me these files are corrupt and of course cannot open them, are these files located else where and if so can some kind person point me in the right direction. Thanking you in advance

Just in case, be sure to get the latest WinRAR and try.
russ109
Azrael Thanks for the tip, downloaded the latest WinRAR and the files now work. I have managed to get Apocalypse to work in XP and DosBox, DosBox is better scrolling speed, but both have no sound. If I can just get the sound to work I will have 100% success in getting this great old game back into life. I followed the instructions, maybe I can try re-installing the sound program to see if that solves the no sound problem. Unless anyone else has any other solutions to this problem, if so please speak up. Once again thank you for your help.

russ109
Ok Azrael Have done a full re-install and followed the instructions on getting Apocalypse to work, and guess what it does, with a twist!!!! To enable music, as I had sounds already I found I had to right click on the Xcomapoc.exe and choose the option "Run with VDMS" this launched the game and everything seems to be working ok. Once again thank you for your help, just need to sit down and re-learn how to play the game again.

Neither work under winXP. I get the same problem listed above; not only with XCA, but on every other DOS-primary game I've tried. Any help would be appreciated. I am still amazed at the amount of people still playing XCA! Thanks in advance Edited January 13, 2006 by Azrael
