SoulSkorpion
Hey. I realise this forum is probably dead and the editor almost certainly no longe rbeing updated, but: I notice there's no way to edit the cost of weapons/tanks/magazines/etc in the editor. Any chance of this changing in the future? Failing that, is it known where in the game's files this information is stored? I ask because I'm interested in going back and re-balancing the game's weapons so that each of them are actually useful. The easiest way to do that that I know of is to balance them as raw effectiveness per dollar cost. I can change the raw effectiveness, but so far not the cost. And while you are at the X-COM wiki, do take a browse around the Game Files page - you are bound to find some of that helpful. - Zombie

That's intersting. I wonder where the defaults are stored...
Zombie
The default copy is saved in the executable, and when a campaign is started those values are transferred over to your game file into purchase.dat. Basically it is a global file with a local copy. Let me get the offsets for the executable for you. - Zombie
[stewart]
How ironic: SoulSkorpion starts out with "I realise this forum is probably dead" and he is answered by a Zombie.
