Has anyone seen this before? I haven't seen a thread about it on this forum. I found it by accident the other day...

UFO: AFTERMATH
THE OUTLINE OF THE GAME
1 SUMMARY
In UFO: Aftermath, a new strategy game from ALTAR interactive, you assume the role of the Earth's last hope, the commander of the last, scattered humans left on the planet. It is up to you guide your forces through the planet's time of crisis, and overcome the alien threat.

Gameplay highlights include:
Simultaneous turn-based combat: combines the best of the real-time and turn-based combat systems;
Randomly generated tactical missions: Each playing field is unique, no two games are the same;
Strong RPG elements: your soldiers will improve as they gain more experience, allowing you to make specialists like snipers, medics, and many more;
Intricate, rich, and frighteningly alien setting displayed in full 3D.

Kudos for putting this post in the right place. :)

Yes we know about it but most of don't care because it's too far from x-com. Could be a good game though if wouldn't try to see it as an x-com sequal..
There's no need for a sig..

Exactly! I recognize that it isn't an Xcom sequel, I just treat it like any of the other turn based games I have acquired over the years!

I just bought it and tried the tutorial.
I haven't beaten it (the tutorial) yet.
The controls are very unintuitive.

Did you get the patch? You really need the patch to enjoy the game. :(

Once you get used to the controls, it should be easy to purge aliens. Watch out for aliens with microslug accelerators (that have a 20/sec ROF and 600 damage per hit.) Those hurt bad.

I just got the game a couple of days ago - it took a bit to work on my machine but I am enjoying it.

It's like a cross between XCOM Apoc and Syndicate

Got the patches, and I've started to get the hang of controls.
It's been blast, so far.
Except the part that seem to be missing, of course.

Part that seems to be missing? You mean base management? Yup. :(
You probably havn't even faced the tough aliens yet, the ones that wield one hit kill weapons against which you have no defense!

I have the game and the patches and it still crashes random. I did not have this the first months so it must be when u are far in the game.
I dont like the game anymore it crashes and it gets boring after a while. Strategy is not that good and there is no management so not an x-com game not even by far.

No, it is not an xcom game. Just accept it. You must not have reached the plateau- where the aliens become practically unbeatable unless you start using advanced tactics.
