NKVD
One day I looked into a pile of old 10$ PC games at a store so I saw a game called X-Com Apocalypse and I thought "what the heck Il buy it" and I have to say its one of the best games Ive ever playd so Im woundering if any other of the X-Com games are just like X-Com 4. Xracer
Xcom Apoc is one of the last version of Xcom it was the one that implemented new features like real time action, the other ones were turn-based and if you read the forums many people were more addicted to version 1 and 2 (Xcom:UFO "Enemy Unknonk", and Xcom: TFTD"terror from the deep" respectively) A real quick over view of both versions: 1) Xcom:UFO --the year 1999 the aliens become a reality to humans Xcom "EXtraterrestrial Combat Unit" is created by the UN "i think" to defend the earth from the advancing threart, blah,blah...... :uzzi: we kill them, very good game. Xcom is disbanded since there is no need for them anymore :crying: 2) Xcom: TFTD-- the year 2039 people have forgotten about the death and panic of the previous war "while a new force was forming". New alien ships start appearing but this time not from outer space but from an area in earth much more dangerous, and that is pretty much unknown to us "THE OCEAN", and guess whothey call on!!! "NO... NOT GHOSTBUSTERS" Xcom, since some people were smart enough and didn't destroy everything, there was an experimental Xcom undersea base that was not decommissioned "how lucky  " and from there you start your mission "Second War as it is knonw" with the underwater threat.By the way the game i like the most IF any one wants to get into more details go aheadis not nice to give the whole story so he might want to read up on ithope you like this gamesand in this site they are working on a updated version of Xcom:UFO "Xenocide" with 3D and everything but of course because of copyright they are changing a few things jsut to be on the safe side.very cool ideaPSthere is a version 3 but not that many people liked it
Xracer
Opppssi almost forgot there was a version 5 in the works but i truly dont know if it was ever released and also a version 6 that i think it was a first person shooter or maybe backwards
[[Micah]]
First, Apocalypse is xcom3. Xcom4 is interceptor (space simlulator), and xcom5 is enforcer (1st-person shooter). There was a 6 and 7, called Genesis (lie ufo defense) and Alliance (1st-person shooter), respectively. There was also email xcom, but nobody really talks about it because it was made by hasborg. [[Micah]]
Referring to the game readme.txt files on the original game CDs themselves, we see the following dates (copied and pasted): X-COM: APOCALYPSE Version 1.00 Readme File 24 June 1997 X-COM Interceptor Readme.TXT file.Copyright 1998, MicroProse Software, Inc.May 31, 1998 X-COM ENFORCER v1.0 README!*************************** 30 March 2001 I think this should clear up your confusion as to what order they were released. [[Micah]]
Xracer: I just couldn't let it go. When I KNOW I'm right, I can't give up I talked with some of the people working on Alliance about 6 months ago. The project has been put indefinitely on hold since Infogrames bought Hasbro. Infogrames has a page on their website where you can preorder the game, but the release date came and went 5 months ago. You must have seen some other game on the shelf. You could have seen the green xcom collector's edition game box that touts an Alliance preview movie that is included.
