Guest drewid
I got an email from an old friend and colleague this morning, it contained the following line. "it seems XCom isn't quite dead officially either... I've also heard its being ported for the GBA... A natural I would have thought." X-Com GBA! I've had no luck finding any confirmation at this time, though I'll keep looking.
LordT
Some while back there was a guy at the gamefaqs.com boards who said "Would'nt it be cool with a GBA port?!". Other than that i've heard nothing about it. Maybe your dude just snapped that one up? It's a little far-off but hey
[[Micah]]
Would this be UFO being ported?

red knight
If you do a Google Search of XCom GBA you get this: EuroGamer - serving you a fresh slice of gaming morning, noon and ... - [ Traduzca esta página ]... [hahakid] - 23-May-2002. Could'nt eurogamer start spreading rumours aboutan GBA port of XCom or UFO ? ... The Xcom franchise is coming to the GBA! ... But the page is gone. Sounds like the rumour is in several places... By the way: GBA means GameBoy Advance... Guest drewid
I figure it probably is a rumour. but If only it was true. It would be a great fit for the hardware.
[[Micah]]
And I would certainly go buy a GBA (probably the newer backlit one) just to play the game.....
c4t
. i am not a fan of gb at all. i own a gb color but that was from the pokemon era. i would be playing it everywhere.
MadTaco
If it was for Game Boy Color I would definitely start playing it again. I also have two of the REALLY old Game Boys...screw the pocket kind
Cpl. Facehugger
I don't think that a gb color has the hardware necesary to play a game like xcom. Now a gba (which I convientely have ) would fit xcom perfectly. Ive already heard of other old games getting ported to the gba, so wouldn't xcom be natural? I mean, atari could make a huge amount of money, and no one would notice how bad the graphics look because it is on a gba instead of a computer! Heck, the graphics would look better on a gba due to higher resolution! I hope they port it. If anyone from atari reads these boards, could you please make an xcom 1-gba port? Please? Cpl. Facehugger
Do you know how to manufacture Gameboy cartridges?
LordT
You can buy empty ones. You'll need to buy a development kit too.
Guest Jim69
Including kit to transfer the data onto the cartridge. Uni's in England are now being given this kit to develop games on their various systems, apparently all the kit they are given mounts up to a couple of million :o

Deathskull
It would be cheaper to make xcom on a graphing calculator.Supsuper is doing that.By the way, If there was a gba xcom, it should have the first 2 games. gba probably cant support apocolypse, yet. ShadowHawk00
Just a thought but does a gba has a mouse. If not how will u play x-com without a mouse ?? Do u even want to play the old x-com without a mouse ? I rather try to play the game on a 1000ghz proc or make a new version myself then play it without a mouse. Puasonen
Well I thought PS1 was playable with the gamepad too.. I could be wrong though but if this is the case, what's so different with gameboy controls?
ShadowHawk00
x-com on a Playstation ?? I have not seen that one. A gamepad != a mouse so it will be a lot slower. I have a game where the mouse is somethimes disabled and u have to use the keyboard instead. And that is not really nice playing. Since the arrowkeys are about the same as a gamepad so the game will be nog nicely playable without a mouse. I thought that PS1 had a special mouse but im not sure about that one.
