Noob With Some Questions

Hi all. I messed around with UFO2000 around a year ago and it was a grand ol' time. I got caught up with some other things (megamek, blood bowl...) but the cravings came back full circle and here I am once more. I see there's a brand new game engine and all new weapon sets. I've just got a few questions about things, which I wasn't able to find any clear answers for after searching through the forum.

 

(these questions are all based off the last stable release)

 

(Edit, this has been resolved... little more experimentation) 1) Unit skins. I made a 4 units. All human blond males, and in order gave them, no armor, standard, power and then flight armor. When I started up a hotseat game they all had the same skin (the Cylon looking one). Am i missing something? While on the subject, saw some posts about getting x-com graphics running in this, although I could only get it to work for the maps (after dragging my x-com folder into the ufo2000 folder) but not for unit sprites. Is it possible to use the old sprites?

 

2) The main server. I notice that the link to check on the ser4ver status doesn't work. Is it just me, or are things down atm?

Man server is down again (its getting annoying) for some days.. dunno when it comes back, come to 82.211.39.133, sometimes you can find couple of people.
