[[Micah]]
Is it supposed to be a wizard smiley?
dan2
Is it supposed to be a wizard smiley?Yes, it is. Can you see it? I can't, on any computer P.S. I'm so sorry, I was wondering what am I doing wrong. I think I was refering to my "avatar", not my picture. Problem solved, so sorry to bother anyone. Can this thread be send to 'Alien Containtment'? dan2
No no, we'll keep it around for posterity Oh, come on, it's embarassing. Anyway, since it will stay here, at least I'm going to ask why the background for the avatar is black? I love what happens to the poor wizard, so that's why I chose it, but it doesn't move, either.Happy gaming

j'ordos
yes, but somehow it was uploaded as a jpg, just check your avatar picture. Wouldn't know how that happened though...
dan2
yes, but somehow it was uploaded as a jpg, just check your avatar picture. Wouldn't know how that happened though...Using the same file that in its attached form seems to work, when I use it to update my avatar, it goes frozen and black. I'm pretty sure I attach a gif file and I tried to update it from 2 different computers. So I'm pretty much clueless

j'ordos
how come there are so many users that do have an animated avatar then (starcraft ones)?
dan2
how come there are so many users that do have an animated avatar then (starcraft ones)?Do you think maybe they have some URLs instead of JPGs?I didn't think having a Gif as avatar would be a problem, since it's the first format in the list for files that can be used for avatars. So should I change mine with a JPG? dan2
So, is my avatar going to be animated ever?
j'ordos
sure, just put it somewhere, imageshack or whatever it was called, for example.
dan2
sure, just put it somewhere, imageshack or whatever it was called, for example.I guess the auto-sizing program is somehow transforming the gif to a jpg. Since you might be able to do it, can you replace my avatar with this attached file, so even if the animation is disabled, at least it will be on a white background? Breunor
You hit it on the head there. My avatar is a gif, loaded on this server, and it still runs (last time I looked). The starcraft gifs are on a different server. But the key is to make the gif the same size as that allowed before uploading it, other wise the size change tends to limit it to the first frame or something like that. Your gif is 96x60 px, while the avatar limit is 64x64px. There's a website that allows you to edit animated gifs, just search for that if you don't have a tool already. Yeeeaaaaahhhh!!!!!Well, thanks for telling me what was the problem. Now I have an animated avatar. For all others, make sure your gif is 64x64 and is less than 20k (I had to chop some frames for this)
