I've recently installed the CWE X-Com editor, and when trying to run it, I get a pop-up box reading the following:

C:\CWE\CWXCED\XCOMEDIT.EXE
The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction.
CS:0212 IP:003f OP:63 ba a3 ff 00 Choose 'Close' to terminate the application

There's a close and ignore box, but clicking the ignore box doesn't work. By reading other posts in this forum, I've found out about keeping my folders simple to make it easier to run the editor. Both the CWE folder and my X-com folder are right on the C:\, and I've managed to properly link up the editor to the right folder. Now this pops up... Any ideas?

If you're using XP, you'll likely need DOSbox to run CWE.

Okay, I've Dloaded DOSBox, and I've managed to run the editor properly. Thank you!

If you're using XP, you'll likely need DOSbox to run CWE.

It works perfect under XP
but you need to run the program for what you need and then quit again, then you won't get the message
@ least that's my experience
