XCOMUFO & Xenocide

Alien Vs Predaror (not The Fox, The Xcom Ones)

Recommended Posts

Now, i would like to have a different version of the history... ehem...

What about Xcom Aliens (UFO Defense) vs Predators?

Now argument, vote and ENJOY!!!! HBD2U

I like!

Having a couple of preds on Top of the buildings cloaked and waiting for their pray.

And with their mask detecting those damn serpents, just lock, charge, aim and boom! :shockwhore: Plasma Cannon!

When the hunt is over, get rewarded from the :commander:

If the hunt fails... well the last Pred makes sure that no one leaves the battlefield alive... :explode:

Skyranger is lost but at least, all serpents died.

voila!

:goodnight:

Without a doubt, the Predators would win. Like Mark0 said, those aliens have a cloaking field which remains active even while it's firing it's "parrot gun" so they can remain invisible throughout the battle. So unless X-COM aliens can make out the shape of a Predator through it's active camouflage, there's know way they could target it. OMG

Is this poll for 1 Predator against a squad of X-COM aliens or is it 1-on-1? Not that it really matters too much, but the Predator prefers to hunt singular animals in order to make it "sporting". Then again, in the first movie it had no problem going up against a crack commando squad. Either way, unless the X-COM aliens are as cunning as Arnie, it'll be a bloodbath. LOL

Well, actually one useful way to detect a Pred in time is to wash him. (Big water explosions or something like that) And by doing so, aliens could deactivate his cloaking.

However, be advised... if not washed the only way you can see a pred is if he wants to be visible by you. Finally, do not forget that...

1. They also have laser weapons (wrist laser in AVP2 Primal Hunt, the expansion of the game) to kill sectopods.

2. They have Neural view (in Predator: Concrete Jungle videogame) that enables them to "read" enemie`s minds.

And specially that very last one could be very dimmy for aliens. Specially for psychics, since they are all conected and by reading one mind a single predator could have complete knowledge of all the strategy and coordination and so he would be fully able to avoid any trap or trick).

That's exactly what the aliens can do. They already know where all enemy units are and their susceptibility to psionic attack. They can launch their psi attacks even if they are not within close proximity of their targets.

Also, it might not be apparent to many but Sectopods also use laser weapons despite the green bolt of energy that we see. Shooting themselves in the foot isn't a pleasant experience for them. ;)

Really the only thing the aliens don't have going for them is the viciousness of the Predators. Even their most horrible weapon, the chryssalids, look almost friendly with that happy smiling skull thingy.

P. S: Regarding the alien's ability to use psi on anyone and anywhere: This is actually a result of little AI cheat they use. They get a one-time free-look at all your untis after 20 turns or when their numbers are down to 2 or 1. Their ability to remember locations of enemy targets after that then decides how long they can automatically attack enemies with psi without seeing them. This length can be indefinite if they manage to mind control any unit repeatedly (and in turn spot other units with that unit). Of course, we're not talking about conflicting game/story mechanics here - this was just informational.
