It sounds like you need the turbo program: here

I have an Athlon XP 2400 overclocked at 2.2ghz and the scrolling was uber fast in tftd untill I used this. Tftd I think was ment for a 400mhz CPU.

You don't have any problems?

I have 2400+ also and when I use the turbo program, it slows loading times too, like going to intercept an ufo. When interceptor reaches the ufo, it takes 3-5 seconds to load the battlescreen where you decide how to drop the ufo.

And in battlescape, backround music is on loop for about 1 minute. Every time the music starts again, game stops for 3-5 seconds..

U don't have these problems?

Don't you think that's a little high on the system specs, considering it was published in, what was it again, 1996? I have played it on either a 386sx @25 MHz or a 486dx @ 80 MHz (I can't remember which one we had at the time), and it worked extremely well on normal speed settings :D

I can play it now without turbo on a 2000 and a 1700 t-bred @2000 Mhz, it's a little fast with the scroll speed set to one but still managable, though I've noticed several people having trouble with a (even slightly) faster CPU... Maybe you should not overclock your CPU and everything will work fine?

Thought I'd register "Super Bart"

Loading times don't seem to be effected for me, everyting loads up almost instantaneously. As for the Music I caun't really coment on that because it does'nt seem to work for me, just the sound effects.

I set Turbo to 30 and it slows tftd to a playable speed but not how it would have been origionaly. I have the Playstation version aswell but find it better on the PC.

LOL I men't 40Mhz / AMD 486 :hammer:

I am able to underclock my CPU to 700Mhz and disabling the cache also helps abit but because of the things I do on my PC this isn't realy feasible as I need to change the speed without rebooting.
