X-com, Xcomutil, And Windowed Mode

I'm wondering if there's any way that I can get the XCom Collector's Edition to run in a window, with XComUtil. I've tried D3D windower, no dice. Is there any way to get this into a windowed mode, or am I wishing pie-in-the-sky dreams?

Should be a setting on the executable called 'Run In Fullscreen', try unchecking this. Also try hitting Alt+Enter while in the game, I know thats the Window's shortcut for switching between windowed and fullscreen modes.

 

Though I play the DOS version through DOSBox, so I don't know about the windows version, my guess is the main problem will be that the game needs 256 color mode, while any computer has 16 if not 24 or 32 bit color, and lets just say 256 color mode is... weird and doesn't place nice with the other types.
