I think there should be scout crafts for human use which could be in the air for several days due to the big fuel capasity and they may have radar dishes to spot UFOs. Also there might be some ships going around the globe and spotting UFO's.

There's some cool human craft, that fly completely off of solar power. They can stay in the air for months at a time, and would be perfect for cheap flying radar.
Here's a link.

Of course, there's also weather baloons...

My first order of business: Homeless people make cheap rookies, and are great at opening UFO doors. Heck, they're so cheap, I'm going to replace all personel with them!
Secondly: This organisation takes too much money to run. Weapon shipments will come from Siberia from now on. Costly maintenance is to be cut on all facilities. That includes venting.
Thirdly: We have a new colonel. His name is Facehugger, he loves aliens, and I want you all to treat him with respect.
Lastly: I'll be in my condo on an undisclosed island, if you need me. Good day.

Yeah, but people will always think those are the ufos. Hmm... Plausible deniability! I like it! :)
I'm only partially inactive. :P I can still be reached at cpl.facehugger@gmail.com, and via PM. Preferably the former.

However, at 23mph it would take a damn long time to get from your base to anywhere outside of teh field of the sensors of your base.

Here I go an angry brother gonna make his move
But can I buck him in the city so I never lose?
See I'm a get him in the crowd with a couple heavies
And lay the barrel to the ground, hold the gat steady
And now I'm ready for my adversary, talk is cheap
I'm looking for a way to make a plan gonna keep it neat
So don't be telling me to get the non-violent spirit
'cause when I'm violent is the only time the devils hear it

you could use space based spy platforms, that you have to send to suspicious areas. We could do a zoomed in IR version of the globe :)

Yeah, spy satellites would be kewl.. it would be even cooler if the satellites themselves were limited like real ones where they're spinning around the globe and can only monitor a particular spot for so long...

TR-3 Black Manta, low-speed long-range stealth recon plane, maybe as real as UFOs...

Just reading that I find the existence of that jet in any form other than a research platform to be highly unlikely. The united states airforce already has weapons platforms of sufficient stealthiness to be invinsible to the kinds of weapons they are likely to face in a war against terrorist cells when the proper tactics are employed. Given the relative expense of stealthy warplanes and the lack of an urgent need for stealthier planes, I can't see this thing being anything other than a development project. Since they already have flying wing aircraft, I highly doubt there is such a thing. By the shape of the black manta, it's clear that it's a subsonic strike or recon jet, and barring superb performance at suborbital altitudes, I don't really see a role for it since we are on the threshold of the induction of the JSF.

Such projects would be perfect for XCOM. Maybe if there would be something like F-19, Aurora, Black Helicopters and other such mystic stuff, it will look more interesting.

Xenocide (as you may well know) is using a modified version of the yf-23. That's about as close to the mythical f-19 as you can get. The real f-19 is what we all have come to know as the f-117. There was speculation as to its designation as the f-19 because the shortly after the induction of the f-16, the yf-17 was refined and designated the f-18 and f-19 was the next number in line.

Yes, I know. But don't know why, real YF-23 had a problem that it hasn't reached 2 M. That's also why USAF has chosen F-22. Maybe good for a tactical stealth fighter, but interceptor? Even aging F-15 would do better work.

the YF-23 was a superior aircraft to the F-22 in almost every regard. Since this fantasy F-23 in xenocide is highly modified, it is presumed to go much faster.

what about thoese big airplanes whith large radar domes on top maby you could lease them from the un you couldent put them in your base but myaby you could keep it in a city

and maby you could also lease fuell planes to refule you fighters

also black helocopters would be cool thay could have shorter range and cary less than a skyranger but a lot cheeper

All three would be cool, the AWACS radar plane, the tanker plane, and choppers (although their range would be limited to less than half the US, and they'd be a LOT slower than the skyranger)

Yeah, but a satellite would have a VERY hard time locating an aircraft, let alone a UFO... They are just too far away to be effective for that. A radar airplane, kinda like the AWACS, on the other hand, makes perfect sense...
