[dipstick]
I tried to upload to the other topic, but it didn't work, so I thought I would try elsewhere. Move if necessary.Project_Xenocide2.ppt
mamutas
Not bad, not bad. Bad I found that text is hard to read sometimes. And some more non-plain font will be nicer.Good work anyway. Who do you think will be doing that presentation?

[dipstick]
Come on, stick to the topic here! I did try with the text colour, really I did!!
Puasonen
Ok, it looks good but I have only few things I would like to see changed.. 1. Same as above, it's hard to read sometimes2. Speed, it's a little bit too fast, make the slides change a bit slower3. Not every topic and text should have different special effects. Choose one good looking effect and stick with it throughout the presentation.4. Maybe "sound department" could offer you some music and sound effects to use in the presentation. Now I heard only one voice in the beginning.. Otherwise it's looking pretty good!
mamutas
I would suggest not to overlay text on image, but position it somewhere in the corner on top of neutral background.
red knight
Just a reminder Xenocide is INSPIRED BY XCOM, not an XCOM REMAKE... for the rest, text is difficult to read, putting the whole image as a background takes away the idea of continuity... For the rest it is OK, keep working and we will have something to publish ( if someone wants to publish it in Internet )... coolp
Its a great start, like people prior have said, the backgrounds don't jell with the text very well
[dipstick]
Right, could all Dept. heads please PM me with/post some details of specialists/qualities wanted in recruits. If possible wav files would also be be acceptable. Any other format is also good, as long as I am able to have a program to convert it to wav. Breunor
I might have missed details from another thread-is this to be displayed on the web site as a recruiting tool? If so, I cna tell you from personal experience that having animated slides with audio will make for a decent-sized file, requiring a PP player as well. I've done some training presentations for military comptrollers in PP, and we tried linking them in the intranet, and it was a big hassle. We have several members who are proficient in Flash, this might be a much better format to include for easier access, and possibly smaller file size. Sorry if I missed what this is being used for... Edit: Oh, for Art dept we are looking for texturing artists and animators, for creative text I think we're covered for the most part, no specific area is lacking there. [dipstick]
I know it is big - around 1.5mb at the moment. But hey, with a few tweaks here and there it looks cool. I am looking to export slides, and use them with narration to produce a WMV file through Windows Movie Maker. I am sure there is a button SOMEWHERE in PP to export *continues looking* otherwise I will have to think up another way, because for some reason WMM doesn't like exported jpgs from Publisher, it seems to cut them off. I do have the second version of WMM somewhere though; have to try that one out. As I said, wait a few days and I will be on Xmas hols. Vaaish
I finally got around to looking though this thing. Anyway, text is clear in maning but we really need to work on presentation. 1. use only one effect for transitions in text, image, or slides.2. if necessary make a square box over the background image with an 80% on transparency to make the text clearer.3. stick to only one text color. (preferably white or black)4. try not to stretch images out of their aspect ratios. (the logo at the start.)5. Try not to make the body copy overlarge just to fill space. That's my suggestions. fux0r666
I love how all the other departments are introduced with impressive character or vehicle models and the AWD is introduced with a dumpster bin. Haha.
