Sup

Here are 2 files, they are my last X-com 1 game from about 6 months ago, the set of saves just showing my base setup and the start, middle and end of Cydonia. Nothing too great but it was the third time I've finished the game since 1994.

The second is my saves from X-com 2 - again with my base saves and some combat saves. I am up to october in the game but have been held back by being unable to research some things like new X-com craft and MC tech (I think??). This is the first time I've ever got by the second month of the game as well, so I don't really know the right strategies yet. Maybe someone could load them up and check if I do have the research bug. There are some things left to research like a lot of live/dead aliens. I have 100 scientists so it shouldnt take long but with work and stuff I havent had chance to check it myself yet.

Anyways , comment / help appreciated and all that.

cheers

Patience! Not everyone can load up the game on the spot. Of course, there could be some weirdo out there with a repeat-file-download fetish...

I don't have a copy of TFTD that I can access right away to test your save game on, so perhaps you could let me know a few things.

1. What aliens and corpses have you researched? I'm particularly interested in if you've done Deep Ones and/or Calcinites.

2. Do you have an MC Reader?

3. Do you have Sub Construction (the store item)?

4. Transmission resolver?

5. Magnetic Navigation - ditto?

Craft and X-Com armour and the transmission resolver are very tightly interlinked.

edit: Of course, forgot point 4 and 5.

In X-Com:TftD many live/dead aliens have been thrown in a tech tree as prerequisites to technologies. If you have many aliens left to research, try them.

But first, read the NKF's research tree bug avoidance guide, and also this thread Check what projects you've completed and try to figure out if you made something wrong.

If you see, that all prerequisite projects for something have been completed, then, probably, you've got the bug. There are some software solutions for that, for instance, here, here and here (still, there are more, if you search for them).

But before using them, make sure you've got the bug, otherwise it will mean you've cheated.

Good luck.
