New Proposed Weapon: Tasers

I propose a new weapon. A taser. I dislike that my primary options for taking live aliens are rather difficult to implement in some areas, and I am proposing a new weapon to counter this.

 

Stats:

-Pistol version

-Rifle version

 

Pros:

-Knocks out aliens or electronice security measures.(making them capturable.)

-has auto-fire, snap shots, and aimed shots.

-No ammunition required, just like lasers.

-Earth-based research.

-Ranged attack

 

Cons:

-Not an area attack, thus unlikely to taser multible targets.

-Not too powerful

-Moderately heavy.

Xcom 3 had toxiguns, I guess that's what you mean.

 

To make sure stun rods and small launchers won't become less useful it should be rather cumbersome. Maybe only the rifle version (2-handed), while the stun rod and small launcher are single-handed

But it lacks the strengths and weaknesses of the small launcher. The small launcher has an area attack, which can greatly affect the outcome between these two weapons, one being highly effective while being cumbersome, the others are the Tasers which are rather small and light in comparision, and don't need ammo.

But what about the stun rod??

 

I like the idea of stun guns and stuff - maybe we can make the stun rod into a slight gun, more like the grapple in XCOM 3? I may try and incorporate that into the CT for it.

I like that.

 

But maby you should make the stunrod look better than the stun grapple.

And the stun rod model would need to be changed, im not sure the modelers would like their work being discarded like that.

 

But an early option to stun enemies at range would be much appreciated.
