I am at the end of a colony assault and I am trying to kill all the aliens so I can collect all the booty. I thought I went through all 3 levels pretty carefully, but now I have stunned all the guys in the control room on lev 3 and get a message that a "lobster technician" has panicked. Grrr! :hammer: I know this guy must be on one of the other levels just standing there. Any ideas? Should I send my crew to check level 1 first? Level 2? Seems to me when i played this game awhile back and ran into a similar problem the lobster guy was hiding on level 1. Thanks.

It could be a Lobsterman that went down only wounded. You can tell when they don't utter a death scream that it's still alive. So your options now are:
1) search the entire base for the bug (you could start with those you stunned, and see if one's missing. If so, he's probably around there)
2) destroy the Synomium Device (in the control room), and get out.

Since it takes some time to regain consciousness when it's wounded, the ones you shoot at the beginning have a higher probability of waking up... other than that there's no telling where it might be :(

edit : You also might consider using an editor to make the map visible, or use xcomutil's 'auto-combat' function'. Since you basically already won, there's no harm in doing that...

Or you could just particle disturbance trackers. (Tftd's motion tracker) Or, if you have enough disruptor pulse torps, destroy the entire base! :devillaugh:
I'm only partially inactive. :P I can still be reached at cpl.facehugger@gmail.com, and via PM. Preferably the former.

Yeah, torch the place! :devillaugh:

Presumably you dont have any motion trackers (or you would have used them already) and if hes panicked he may not show up anyway.

You cant afford to let one of those lobsters get away (where would the friday night special for the cafeteria come from?), so do a sweep and take him down!

No, seriously, if you want to bug out, you can destroy the device and then exit the mission - as said above. You still succeed, but you wont get all the equipment/stunned aliens. You did say you wanted the booty though, and im assuming you stunned some of them because you wanted to capture them.

Good luck!

Thanks for the input :D Well 30 turns later after resweeping all three levels of the colony I found the lobster tech right near where I started. KO'd him and got the exit screen! Woo Hoo, total booty was over 7 million  Sure was a pain, but well worth it since I am still pretty early in the game and can use the cash.

I had a similar situation once. After 110 turns of sweeping and no effective cheats in the internet, I gave up and used the synomium-device-destruction-and-retreat-tactic.

I mean... 110 turns! Lots of boredom and psychological pain :naughty:
