Puasonen
Ok, we have been planning about using different objects/buildings/terrains in different countrys or continents at least. The problem is that we have many different terrain types at one continent so how is the geoscpape "globe" divided to different areas? If you drop ufo to japan, map has a japanese look in the battlescape. If you drop it in USA, the map has a lot of hamburger places in it (just a joke)But besides that, we also have to have different battlescape maps for different terrains like desert, jungle, snow, mountain, and all the other stuff that is in x-com too. Now is the desert map in egypt different than desert map in USA? This will create some serious amount of work I'm afraid.. Breunor
I think there would be a desert tile set that applies for all continents, only building models and man-made objects would be filtered by a continent code.
Puasonen
Ah, so it's like in x-com ufo defense. The looks of the maps are depending only on which terrain are they on. Continents only bring some extra stuff like eiffel towers or somethin? I definitely would like to see pyramids in egypt and (hay/mud houses in africa) :: What? You mean everyone in africa doesn't live in mudhouses? Egyptians doesn't live in pyramids?
