Ok, got one... landed small UFO, sectoids apparently ;)

 

Just started a super human game, Laser rifles are almost done when this beautiful landed UFO said "Trev... come to me... take me and meh free stuff!"

 

So i geared up with a bunch of rifles, lots of ACs with HE rounds, one rocket launcher with a bunch of grenades.

 

I land, chuck a Smoke nade outside the UFO... end turn

 

 

Suddenly a little Sectoid seems strolling in front of the skyranger, so i let him have a large rocket for breakfast... Him and the 2 shacks disapear into a cloud of smoke... right in front of the skyranger, very convinient for me. Sent a few Rookie riflemen (pretty decent starting troops actually, one bad person... named him Newbie :) ) I set up a basic landing defense and prepare for the rush out of the landing area.

I send a few troops northward, they find one Gray inside a shack, gun him down, spotted one further north of the UFo, tossed a nade at his feet while thanking him for the first elerium and plasmas i'm gonna get in this game.

 

Set up a defense around the entrance of UFO, nothing spotted west.

 

End Turn

 

Open UFO door with Rookie, 3 Grays spotted

Hmfp! That was over quick. No view of the shanty town. No sneaking down thin streets and alleys. No aliens jumping out shouting "Booga booga".

 

Hey at the end show the map as well as mission results.

arrg... ran into my first psy opponents today... Supply ship with Sectoids :-\

 

The psy is what got me, it disabled about 1/3 of my team as i made my way to the UFO. I gunned down lots of my own troops, and out of 14 people, i managed to salvage 4 that didnt get MCed... what doesn't fail the mission makes your guys stronger right? :)

 

I was SOOOOOO Close to getting a Sectoid leader stunned... But nooooo, he has to reaction shoot the rookie, and the 2 primed high explosives i put into his backpack made the mission end with a BOOOOM!!!! :D

hrmm... you seem to handle psy differently then i do...

 

Anyways, i ran into a supply ship stocked full of sectoids. Still haven't fully researched personal armor so I had a skyranger full of squaddies and a few rookies with laser rifles, 2 ACs with HE rounds, and one Rocket launcher.

 

The beginning of the mission went exceptionally well actually... mowed through about 5-6 sectoids on the way to outside the UFO.

I send in a rookie to find 4... count em FOUR sectoids standing in a square grouping. I pulled the rookie out and poped a few autoshots into the group. Went into the other side to find a sectoid looking at the door, So i blew him away with a laser rifle and moved a few men inside to secure the door.

 

THEN came the psy... oh god, how it rained heck down upon me in just one turn. 3 of my guys got MCed and lasered everyone inside the UFO, i opened the door the next turn and chucked a High explosive to vaporize the traitors. Went inside with my officer and a few sargents and secured the bottom level of the UFO finally.

With the way clear to the top, i sent my officer up to the top level with a laser rifle and a stun rod, determined to get a leader out of this mess. i walk slowly to the area where the leaders often hang out, round the corner and get shot at, i rush my officer towards the alien...

Alien dies as there is no alien containment facility at base.

That happend to me, I was saying"WOW!! I GOT AN ETHEREAL LEADER WOOT!!!!" then the message came up alien dies as there is no containment faculty at base :crying:

Well... i am building Personal armor (i have a few suits) when i notice a bazillion large UFOs all over africa...

 

I let one land and send my force still equiped laser rifles and auto cannons.

 

I was just ripping up real bad... and i was sending one of my kamakazi rookies to the Lift (yes it was a battle ship :( ) and was almost to the door when i ended the turn... and of ALL THINGS... a REAPER, yes A REAPER pops out and bites my rookie in the donkey... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM off goes his high explosives taking out 4 of my guys in one blast (one in personal armor :( ) I ran through the rest of the ship blasting down the rest of the floaters... frustraighted at that stupid loss of great soldiers... losing only a few more rookies.

 

Yes i got tons of cool stuff, but at what cost <_<

Every time the same mistake.. Never should one underestimate the cleverness of the reaper.. :D

Funny, I hardly ever get bitten by a reaper (it CAN happen, but it's very rare ^_^ ) And if they bite sometimes it doesn't even do anything :rolleyes:

But best of all is letting a Reaper chase you but going through a single-width door, the poor critter will come after you (maybe) but can't get through the door and is an easy target for a couple of autoshots next turn :naughty:
