I been thinking who ever is the webmaster for ufo2000 to see if we can update the news site and put some of the stuff thats going on in the forums such as players, main forum topics, and things like that. The page hasn't been updated in a year but I want to contribute to see if I can modify the news.

What exactly would you like to see there as the first updated news entry?to see if we can update the news site and put some of the stuff thats going on in the forums such as players, main forum topics, and things like that.
IMHO major updates for the news at http://ufo2000.sourceforge.net make sense when the game itself gets updated too.The page hasn't been updated in a year but I want to contribute to see if I can modify the news.

Some people that maybe don't have the game are unfamiliar with xcom and therefor if they see news being updated once every few months may get discouraged at trying the game out. So on the news section some of the new information can read some of the tournaments that are being played right now along with some links of where to find the tournaments. Maybe mention some of the better topics into the news, so that people can come in and see that there's activity. Not everyone checks the forums.
