Selling Part Of My X-com / Microprose Collection On Ebay

Hello everyone. At the suggestion of Micah I am posting a notice about an EBay auction I am currently running that represents about 10% of my X-Com / Microprose collection.

I have been collecting X-Com and Microprose related games and collectible items for two decades. Most of my collection was procured directly from Microprose employees when the company shut down - so I have some insanely rare stuff - including game manual signed by all of the developers, coffee mugs, shirts, pins, posters, etc. For monetary reasons, I've decided to pare down my collection by selling some of the stuff that I have doubles of.

If you are interested, just do an EBay search on X-Com and my collection is the first to pop up. Or follow this link:

I'd prefer that my X-Com related stuff gets into the hands of someone that is a serious collector who will take care of it, so I thought I'd pop by to see if anyone was interested.

My email address is [email protected], if anyone has any questions or just wants to chat X-Com.

Matthew

I have some other rare items as well that I haven't decided if I'm selling or not - including a Terror From the Deep game manual signed by all of the development team members, a signed novel, Microprose mugs, Microprose Christmas mugs, dozens of posters, several ultra-rare t-shirts, a handful of pins, numerous mint condition games in shrinkwrap, etc.

Took a look, and I can say that the only thing with interest to me in the collection was the mug, but Id feel bad about using it with the whole Only 100 were made guilt trip =p

..You know I could probably just make my own O_o..

Edit: Wait a second, if you knew some of the original developers, that could mean that you could get us the source code for Apocalypse! :O

You jerk D: Help ussss..

The shirts are actually a lot of fun, and the black X-Com pin is very impressive in person. I agree with you though, the mugs are my favorite. Coffee and X-Com are two of my favorite things.

You certainly could, but then it wouldn't be an original Microprose X-Com mug would it? LOL.

Might I ask the reason for sale?

Money. My collection is fairly large and I really don't need 5 coffee mugs, eight shirts, dozens of posters, half a dozen pins, ten novels (some of which are signed), eighteen mint shrink-wrapped games, etc. I collected compulsively at the time because I knew I would never find those kinds of items again. But right now money is more important for me than having an X-Com collection that is 5+ deep in every item.

A four foot tall stack of mint shrinkwrapped X-Com games and two trashbags full of collectibles is a weee bit excessive - even for a severe X-Com/Microprose addict like myself.
