Puasonen
I picked Gillman, It also drops from allmost every weapon, and I believe it's the weakest alien in MC-defence? Full of green shuckeroonies whole Gillman

Scott
No one choose Calcinite? I think Calcinite is weakest. You can kill them with most weapons(don't tell me you still using Harpoons while you can use Gauss/Sonic).Does any one killed by Calcinite? for me, no.When face to 2 or 3 Aquatoids with Sonic, I will hide, but when I see Calcinites, rookie's shooting training begin! HEY!!!!i play in Superhumanthose darn tricene things have never appeared!!!!I remember them in previous games but not in the currentthen again i have not gotten a terror site in like 10 months those darn terror ships never get to land "i don't know why O:) " they always seem to crash for some odd reason
Puasonen
This triscene-thing is odd.. There was a time when I had it in about 6 terror missions in a row. Before and after that I haven't seen them anymore. My friend also had two of those side by side in island terror attack at night! Everything was going fine 'till then. Those two bastards slaughtered three squads of his men and he had to abort the mission! (BTW, we have agreed that we never load the game, except if the game crashes or we stop playing of course) We did the same in "Enemy Unknown" We both played it through in superhuman by these terms: *No psi-amp, psi defence is acceptable but we never used psi-amps*No Heavy Plasma, this makes the game very interesting*No Hovertanks and no flying suits. Of course it's still a bit easy when you have 4 guys with blasters firing in every direction but anyway
Puasonen
...I forgot! The first time I encountered calcinites in aquatoids terrormission, calcinites killed 4 of my men. FOUR!!! Damn I have hated those bastards after that. Of course I didn't have any suits then.

Mustang
There are 2 aliens that I couldn't put down and they are the Xarquid and the Drone. If you want to vote for either of them say so. :uzzi: Mustang678
tzutzy
The Hallucinoid isn't much of a threat once you have at least ion armour and it really hates fire they say... :uzzi: :uzzi2: :flame:
DeadEye
I love killing Calcinites because they don't have that much tu's (I think), it doesn't really take that much to kill one and their only attack is hand-to-hand. They don't even have any special abilities like Molecular Control, or the ability to fly. When I see them it's definately time for :uzzi: Oh... err yeah my vote goes to Calcinites. hippyjon
man i cant believe your all so chilled about calcinites! especialy on base attacks, they just turn up from no-where and WHAM! they dont seem to die to easily either. i voted deep one, since they have crap short range attacks and die pretty easy too (aquaturds often have DPL (blasters) later, so they can be tricky) if id have thought about it i would have gone for the halucinoid though, theyve only once ever attacked me, and thats cus i stood there and let it. it did no damage at all :: (i think they might have a stun weopon or something)

miceless
and you must mean Bio-DroneThose ufo floaty things are strange. I was playing a trading route terror site yesterday and there were several. The first on was in a room and came out next to a man of mine. It did an electric zappy thing and that was it. It did no damage to my man (I had no armor). I threw a greande and ran (as i know they explode) but it survived the explosion to zap me again. Again, no damage. It died on the second grenade. Then, a bit later, i found another one. It came round a corner and zapped a man, doing 2 health damage but no fatal wounds. He ran away and another guy shot at it - no kill. Then it came round the corner and zapped me again. No damage. Unfortunately my man reaction shot it, it exploded and my man went down with it. The third one i found came round a corner and took a shot at a man at the other end of the building - this time it used ranged weapons. He died. My best soldier took a shot at it. She hit it, but didnt kill it. Then, it takes a shot at her, and kills her. This single alien thing killed the entire rest of my team without missing a single shot. Some of the shots were across the whole map! How come some of the time it uses a pathetic melee zappy weapon and then, apparently at random, it switches to its highly accurate, long range weapon of doom? hippyjon
does the hand to hand weapon attack several times? if so it might just be designed to get a reaction shot out of you
miceless
does the hand to hand weapon attack several times? if so it might just be designed to get a reaction shot out of you It kinda looks and sounds like it does, but its hard to tell if that actual seperate attacks or just a sound/visual thing. It certainly got a reaction out of one of my men, as I said.
Andy
voted aquatoid. If you need a biodrone corpse, make sure you kill it on a level that's different from your guys. IE, if the bio drone is one level above your guys, and you shoot it. When it dies, it will explode on the level that's above your guys, and the biodrone corpse will fall. Note, it will sometimes explode when you fire a thermal shok bomb at it. This brings back some unpleasant memories.... When I first met Calcinites, I thought it was some civilian soldier of some sort, so I left it along. I process the turn and it came and swipe my guys out of existances.... When I first met Lobsterman, a lobsterman walked next to my aquajet colecanth, my aquajet reaction fired and and resulting explosion killed my colecanth. My turn came up, the I could "tell" lobsterman was "laughing". Which brings me to some other memory. It was a terror mission with gillman, I stepped out of the Triton and some Gillman fired a thermal shot bomb into my ship. From that day on, I realized how important MC control can be.... Note; I had no armour at that point in the terror mission. *ends rant*

miceless
I think they tend not to explode when killed with nades. Personally I would rather kill them as quickly as possible. Eventually, i pick up an intact one anyway.

AliensMustDie
I voted for the Hallucinoid. The aquatoids early on are nothing, but later in the game, like on artefact sites, they sneak up like ninjas and throw piles of grenades with deadly accuracy. Big problems esp. if you go at it at night. So they are wimpy initially, but they can be deadly as time goes on. The hallucinoids have never even damaged any of my guys. Usually they just sit there like a big floating target with a big splash once you wipe them out.
Cpl. Facehugger
I voted for lobstermen. I know that seems like a odd choice. But I find lobsermen to be simple if you are prepared for them. By the time lobster men arrive, you should at least have sonic cannons. Also, you get vibroblades actually before they show up if you are proficient. Lobstermen are pretty dumb, its really easy to sneak up on them. Once you do that, you get free seafood. Gillmen are runners up. Then Aquatoid. Aquatoids are dangerous because they have mc. Lobstermen are only dangerous if you face them unprepared. Edit: theyre even easier if you use xcomutil's option to fix gauss weapons. Edited August 15, 2003 by Cpl. Facehugger
Pallidar
Voted Hallucinoids. Never been hurt by one before, even unarmored. Like J'ordos said, they just sit there and pulsate. On superhuman, no less.
SupSuper
Gil Man for sure.Aquatoids are still found in colonies, sometimes equipped with Disruptor Pulse Launchers, and show up much more often than Gil Men. they also put up a better fight (they have more accuracy than Gil Men, i think). nothing compared to the Gil Men which are more commonly seen in Terror Sites (rarely in crash sites) and always use the normal sonic weapons. even their counterparts, the Deep Ones, catch you offguard more easily. j'ordos
I still stand firm by my Hallucinoid as top weakling. I just had a colony mission, and when I came out of my ship there were like 3 of them close by. Thinking 'now's a good chance to see what they can do', I send out one guy and leave him be.First turn, nothing happens, apart from some blubbering movement by the Hallucinoids.Second turn, idem, but one Hallucinoid gets shot and drops dead as they get next to my operative.Third, idem and another drops down, nevertheless there now are 2 right next to my soldier.Fourth turn, now at last one of the creatures attacks :o , killing my soldier in one strike (he was only wearing aqua plastic armour, though). Still, with even the slightest effort 2 men could have hold off those 4 Hallucinoids without problem, even Calcinite attack faster Edited February 8, 2004 by j'ordos

Worm
hallucionids are tho most crappy aliens.Anyone managed to be killed by some yet? They realy du NOTHING.Aquatoids have mc, thats a little bit nerving later on.Gill men can at least shot back :/ (but they are no challenge in the later games)

Cpl. Facehugger
I stick by lobstermen. If you are ready for them, they are actually easier than fighting aquatoids. Jenny
You have this totally weird lobsterman fetish don't you? How exactly are lobstermen easy to kill? Please do tell cos it might help me a lot.And isn't using xcomutil sort of cheating?
Cpl. Facehugger
Lets see, lobstermen are vlunerable to hth, stun, ap, and MC. Whenever I see a lobster, I either equip my men with ap rounds for the human weapons, or give everyone vibroblades. I have also noticed that if you have three guys next to a lobster, even if they are all out of tus, that the lobster will often run away. (works for most single square aliens btw) And technically xcomutil is cheating, but it makes the old weapons that you would have never used otherwise useful again. Jenny
Okay, maybe I'm just stupid or something, but I have a hard time in getting my soldier near a lobsterman. They just get killed by their "reaction fire" half of the time.
