Xcom In Flash (concept)

Hi

 

Well I've always wanted to make 1 game, usually combat/ xcom inspired. Its going to be in flash and put on Newgrounds if ever finished.

 

I'm in the process of simplifying it as much as possible so I can handle the task. Hopefully people can give insight. Thanks.

The game is going to split into series, the plot of XCOM accelerated. (if I ever get past 1)

 

Game 1: Lasers Rifles/Light armour. Down craft... Sectoids/Snakemen...meet Chrysalids for the first time.

 

 

Simpler-fying ideas...

 

The player controls the group as a whole, movement and firing is basically 1 block as it were. (game play is more linear, also it stops new players making mistakes.)

 

The map is separated into Quadrants. 1 active at a time, all others are frozen. (linear again, plus full map atm takes a lot of processing power)

 

1 Level/Floor only. Indestructible environment . (Ensures linear-ness, might allow lvl access in last quadrant.)

 

Combat is fought over focal points/choke points. (linear again, if a focal point is won unit advances... if lost... they die maybe)

 

Weapons fires always hits the target, accuracy/range effects how badly it hits. (no more friendly fire! LOL)

 

No real "Time Units" but % added/taken away from accuracy or increase chance of getting hit.

 

Lastly will this this be copyright infringement?
