An gun that behaves like a stunned soldier in the first 2 xcoms, IE you would drop it and activate it to become a guard turret or perhaps a motion scanner would be a nice addition. Perhaps it could also be thrown? Also, the aliens should try to attack incoming crafts (Skyranger) with UFOs to increase the difficulty.
