Solitude Dragon
Greetings, everyone. It's been a while since I installed and played Apocalypse since I'm more of a fan of the original and TFTD. However, I have a tendency to powergame and I've always wondered about agent stats in this game. I checked out RWong's guide, but the numbers there and the numbers in the game don't add up. For example, according to his guide, the starting stat for a human soldier's accuracy is 65+20, which to me means that base accuracy can go no lower than 65 and no higher than 85 to start and yet I have a soldier with a base accuracy of 18. So I have to ask two questions (and I know they've probably been asked before): What exactly are the possible starting statistics for humans, hybrids and androids? Is there a "max limit" to the stats? What that means is, if a statistic starts out low, does it max out lower than if that starting stat started high or is there a uniform max number depending on the type of agent? Thanks in advance. j'ordos
Numbers found in Rwong's guide (and in the ingame UFOpaedia too I think) that have to do with accuracy are actually reversed, it should be 100-65 = 35 maximum base accuracy and 100-85 = 15 minimum base accuracy. The other numbers should be fine though. Edited February 8, 2008 by j'ordos
Aiki-Knight
I understand that an agent cannot more than triple his/her original value of each stat. So, an agent starting with an accuracy, for example, of 33, ought not to be able to reach higher than 100, and this appears to apply to humans and hybrids alike. That being said, I'm notorious for playing the extremely long game. My experience is that agents can and do reach a maximum value of 100. An agent that sees a lot of combat and spends tons of time in training can achieve several full-100 point stats. It does take a long game, but I've had my ultra-commandos have almost all-100-point stats across the board. No editors, no "training missions", no friendly raiding. Just bona fide awesomeness. It can happen. And, uh, it's SWEEEEEET.
[NKF]
Psi stats follow the triple base value rule. Psi defence can be boosted beyond the maximum with the mind shield trick, and won't deteriorate like other stats that are unnaturally boosted beyond their maximum level. Other stats are governed by a cap, which differs by each stats. For example, accuracy caps at about 98 or 96. I can't for the life of me see why there's that small difference. - NKF Edited February 8, 2008 by NKF
NRN_R_Sumo1
Although almost all stats can be edited to be 255 as a maximum, the game normally has a limit of 100 on all stats If I am correct. an exception is Accuracy, which if I am not mistaken can only be raised to 97 naturally. Solitude Dragon
Thanks for the help, everyone...and Aiki, I'm a big fan of the long game myself. It makes the game feel much more epic and realistic for me. ^^
