Yeah, there is most likely more strategy involved in Turn-based, but I've found that I simply don't have the patience for it, gets too boring for my taste, whereas in Real Time it's all excitement (at least to me)I like watching grass grow so there!
Anyways I agree that its a little faster but I feel like theres more stategy in turn based, and sure its not quite as realistic but thats ok with me. I like real time too don't get me wrong, I just hate my soldiers always making stupid moves that end up in one of my soldiers shooting another in the head for example. There's less control that's the problem for me!

Besides, Xenocide will be turn based Azrael ,does that mean you think it will be boring or that Xcom UFO was boring as well

I am aware of it, and was never particularly happy about it <_<, but I'm hoping the game turns out fun. The reason I could never stand the original UFO was not because it was turn-based, it was because of the endless bugs, annoying interface, and lack of load option on battlescape.Well I'm a turn based lover and I say its not bad. The only thing that really sucks about it is the AI, which works better with the real time.

in apoc turn based mode is damn hard(how do I sopesode to know what that button do?)
RT in apoc is fun-put few guys in midle of battlefield-and let one of them walk around.
then keep the guns blazing till enemy down!
And RT is got great dual wielding!

It will be fun! Maybe in a later release there could be both real and turn based, that would make every one happy.
I think the lack of a load option is to keep you from reloading when you lose a good soldier

And gufu, TB is only hard if what you're used to is real time, I'm playing real time right now and I think its a hundred times more difficult. I've never had 25 men injured at once until i started playing real time!

If that was the reason, it's the most senseless thing I've ever heard, playing a game is for fun, let me play it the way I like.I think the lack of a load option is to keep you from reloading when you lose a good soldierI am aware of it, and was never particularly happy about it <_<, but I'm hoping the game turns out fun. Did you ever play TFTD perchance? Because if you want to talk about bugs that will leave you angrier than a hornet, than TFTD has them.

I know, but it *could* actually be a possible reason. That was really a joke <_< my sarcasm is hard to catch digitally I guess. I'm sure it was just an oversight.
Only for a short bit, I only played once, I stopped because I got stuck in a two-phase terror mission on a ship, I killed a bunch of lobstermen, in fact, I killed all of them, but apparently there was still a missing Alien somewhere, I spent over 100 turns looking for it, later waiting for it to move, nothing, screw you TFTD <_<Did you ever play TFTD perchance? TFTD is actually what got me introduced to X-com so it is actually my favorite

Whoa this is start to get off topic! Long live Turn Based

In UFO: Enemy Unknown TB was fun becuase it wasn't a long game and you could think more strategically, but in Apoc with the huge maps (height wise) it takes ages in turn-based to search while in real-time you can send all your troops running around everywhere.
Also a major advantage of real-time over turnbased is that those silly mistake clicks you make arent a major hassle in real-time, clicked a soldier accidently on a prox mine in RT you just click him away, in TB watch him slowly walk to his doom (well it would be his doom if explosives were as effective in UFO).
RT Dual Wielding is fun, great doing like a matrix scene with two-law pistols (or two autocannons or whatever floats your boat), sent two agents into Cult Of Sirius armed with two law pisolts, a lot of clips and a nice shiny powersword, those Cultists didnt stand a chance.

In TB you cant dual-wield and to be honest I prefer UFO for a strat game more then Apoc, Apoc is more of a game where you can tear down the scenery and do odd fun stuff, like piling an entire building with vortex bombs and play a different version of dominos in which when the domino falls down, the buildings fall down as well

Apoc is much more fun to mess around in, UFO is much more better strategy-wise. Both are great games.

I have always loved turn based games because I like to take the time to think about what I am going to do instead of reacting to whatever is going on. A lot of turn based games seem to break down into a clickfest that you end up fighting the controls more than actually planning anything out.
One thing that is unfortunate is that turn based games are dying out as a whole. If you think about it most games have turned into one of very few game types. First person shooters, realtime strategy/city builders such as Starcraft, RPGs that you spend a lot of time (I am not saying this is a bad thing, it can be a lot of fun) building characters and simulators for various things. I am sure I have missed some types, but that is not my point. I just think it is a shame that turn based strategy games are (Civ is the one I can think of that still lives) dying out.

I like Rt mode, because things happen simultaneously, which is more realistic and natural than turns.
