[stewart]
If you are interested let us know. What web skills do you have. And why should Micah trust you with FTP access? ::
[stewart]
I vote Micah. Micah can you create a directory for us say. XcomUFO/Manuals We can then actually paste the html and images in this forum which can be transfered to the "website" by you. We all have to decide right NOW. The following: DO we use absolute paths or relative ones? I vote paths relative to the Manuals directory.

Breunor
Relative paths are definitely the easiest to maintain. I might be able to help, although with the holidays coming up I might not be online as often. I think Micah trusts me with ftp access by now, and my web resume includes www.projectxenocide.com. If there's someone else who has more time I'd say go with that member, but in a pinch I can do some work on it.
[[Micah]]
Sure, I can do it, or Breunor, whatever
[stewart]
Okay setup a directory on the server. Now lets plan the website. Let's hear idea on how it will be. Maybe we could start with the main page?
[stewart]
How bout for now we have at least a rudimentary mainpage that say at least has a link to the word version on spacemans website saying say under construction. If we have a link to click on maybe that will help to move things forward.
Anthraxus
If you still need somebody to do the website for this, I can do anything but graphics for it. Micah already has my web designing experience and everything as I've done some work with him on the xcomufo site before. I still have ftp access too, I think. [stewart]
Excellent I say we start out rudimenatary then build things up as we go along. All right first things first, let's hear ideas for what should be on the main/home page. Recall there will be the electronic/word processor version which spaceman42 is working on (so we'd want a download link for that but also we want some kid of on-line hyper linked thing to. Maybe we can run cross links to other companion websites like the UFO paedia one and stuff like that. At any rate you search field manual you see there's a website you click on the link and . . . Anthraxus
The way I see it you would load up to the homepage which would have the xcom logo and a short block of test defining the training manual and it's purposes. At the bottom would be a link to the Master TOC. The TOC would be it's own page with just a basic list of links to the various Manuals TOCs. Each manual TOC would define it's own scope as the manual is written, with links to each section. Within each section of the Manual TOC you would have links to the UFOpaedia and whatever else you wanted to throw out links too.
[stewart]
I think we should plan to and recognize that this website will evolve. That evenually thinks might change to the point where initiall vision and versions of it will change. So what I'm saying is lets just start and then over time we'll change things. BTW do you have ftp access to that directory (for all I know I might too) but I think I deleted all my old PMs from Micah. All have to enquire of mr gibson the time we him. BTW if he's dead he hasnt told me Why dont you post some initial html pages.
Anthraxus
Well, apparently my id and/or password have become invalid, so I don't already have FTP access after all. I'll mock up some pages and put them on my personal website for now.
