Do you have motion trackers? (particle disturbance sensors I think) If so use them. If you don't, have you researched sonic pulsers yet? Those are excellent for rooting out aliens, although magna-pack explosives work too. If you have none of this equipment, you must do it the old fashioned way. Remember to check every room, they love to hide in the small ones.

also remember to check behind every object that can block your view (doors, crates, etc.). check your minimap for unexplored areas and explored them.

if all of that doesn't work, check already explored areas. yeah, it's boring, but i once found the last alien inside my craft :blink:

if you still can't find the alien, you can always use xcomutil to view the whole map.

Toilets in the cabins!!!!!

 

If you open the door to a cabin, it looks like you can see through those glass doors to the toilets( :huh?: ), but you can't, actually. So in each cabin you have to check the toilets, those one-square rooms, as every time at least one of those buggers is hiding in one of those :cussing:

Hi, first of all sorry for my english im from argentina, so here is my problem im in the first part of a ship mision and I cant find the last alien, could someone give some advice please?

It is possible that it's bug. I heard it sometimes happens that you are unable to finish map even if killed all of the aliens.

It's possible, but I doubt it, tftd's aliens have an extraordinary knack for hiding from your holy retribution. Motion trackers and sonic pulsers are the way to go. Although high explosives and vibroblades/ thermic lances and thermal shock launchers can work well too. Remember to catch at least 1 deepone alive...

That's why I had so much troubles to play this game... Too hard and too inept... Why the heck do I need to research dead Deep One to be able to research Aqua Plastic?? Eh... Nvm.

 

How long does it take for you ppl to 'clear' Terror Site?

2 parter cruise ship stats are most interesting :P. I guess you're auto-cannonig everything in sight (duno what's tftd name for that weapon)

well, Gas Cannons (Heavy Cannons in UFO) and Sonic Pulsers (Alien Grenades) would probably be the only solution since Hydro Jet Cannons (Auto Cannons), Torpedo Launchers (Rocket Launchers) and Disruptor Pulse Launchers (Fusion Ball Launchers) can only be used underwater (which is pretty nerve-breaking since they're the most powerful ones).

 

my average would be 30-40 turns on each terror site (double that for ships since they have 2 levels)

IIRC those pulsers were powerfull like Blaster Bombs from X-Com1.

indeed they are. they killed the soldier that throwed it which was +/- 8 squares away in a cruise ship mission. here's a screenshot of turns after the explosion, the cursor being at the position the pulser was at.

 

i'm really in a screenshot frenzy lately :P

Im wondering how much medical bays would you need if playing Apoc...

 

TFTD appears to be a little unbalanced to me... Those stupid USO walls are so fragile....

Aw c'mon! It is so difficult to shot down the USO (sometime) but on tact screen you can destroy all walls (at least inside USO) with those earth's weapons.

 

And you're right - we don't have to use a ufo's doors. We have to use USO's ones. :beer:

Sometimes the aliens ships fly though. Therefore they can be ufos! :)

I know it sounds weird and unbelievable but I shot down USO once over dry land. I even tried to revoer this USO. Forgot what happened later...

IIRC the game doesn't let you shoot down usos over land, it says, uso is airborn, you cant attack it.

Heck I know! That's why is it so strange... When I tried to shot USO again it said it is airborn... And I was surprised. Version where I shot down the USO was one of my pal's pirated games... Duno does it any matter but...
