Bug In Tftd Ship Route Mission

When I went to terrormission "shiproute" Everything was going like allways, Me blasting aliens, aliens shooting my soldiers exactly to forehead from long range :) but then after a delicious war, I didn't get to another level. It doesn't end whatever I do, I except there should be one more alien somewhere, but there isn't I have searched the ships every corner SEVERAL times and nothing! There is no damn alien left. Theres only one more thing to try. I have stunned 2 biodrones, maybe if I blow those "sleeping-beautys" up? Could it help? Another alien left alive is that big lizzard looking with huge cannons both sides of it, it didn't die, it just fell from my magnapackexplosive. Maybe I should kill that creature too? Yesterday I searched that map for 3 hours!!! :cussing:

Is there ANYONE who has had the same problem?

i have played TFTD for a while and never have that problem.... make sure none of the aliens have woken up, in long missions like that stunned aliens could wake up...if that doesnt work try killin the big alien, biodrones maybe asleep but make sure the big one is out!! they can be really tricky...

Update for this post:

Ok, yesterday again I continued to search the alien. I killed all the aliens I had stunned, and I one more time moved my remaining men around the ship. Every cabin every inch.. And finally, I killed all the civilians also

Still nothing, well what the heck, I loaded the game one more time, collected live aliens (except the big one because you cannot take it to your backbag) and all the weapons and left that miserable mission. Well, I had shiproute missions after that and without any problems so I don't know. If someone wants proof that the mission had a bug, I still have the save game and I can zip it at put it here for playing?

I had a problem with the ship route mission.

It was on the second part, I killed all the stupid aliens, but the mission never ended. There was absolutely no live aliens left. I even blew apart all the containers lookin for some wily ones, but no dice.

My friend had the same one, any suggestions? :huh?:

I used to think there was a bug in the ship terror mission as well. But here's what I found out. Just like you was also spending hours trying to find the last alien check every corner to no avail... or so I thought. Turns out that those turds like hiding in showers and merely looking through the shower door is NOT enough you have to open them to see the aliens. I used to think that just because the "fog of war" is lifted when you look through the shower door that it meant that I saw what was there. That is until one an alien came running out of the shower I thought I checked on the previous turn and blast me in the donkey. (Clean little bastards aren't they?) But ever since I found that out I've never had any problems finishing ship terror missions.

had a similar problem ecept that i made it...

after 2 hours scourging i found a triscene in a closet... its true.

the door was small... so even though the closet itself is 4 boxes big (as a tank) ...

i dont know how it got inside... anyway i killed it and won.

I've had that once too! That's really funny! Until it kills all your troops with its reactions LOL I think this is my first post in these forums! :)

I've seen worse. I've seen jellyfish stuck in crash site missions with rocks going through them (yes, going THROUGH them).

In fact, there was one mission in which there were TWO jellyfish stuck in the rocks, I just stunned them with one thermal shock launcher.

As for last alien thingies: I've never had a mission when it was impossible for me to find the last alien. It has been long/hard/tricky, but I always seem to find it eventually. I think it depends on how much you have played the game before. If you have played lot, you know the usual hang outs for given maps and thus know where to look for.

Of course, you have to go through every door you see. In fact, you have to check 360 degrees every time because sometimes revealing an area does not necessarily reveal the alien. I dunno why this happens, but my soldiers sometimes miss aliens standing two squares in front of them (and there is no blocking door or anything, they just CHOOSE not to see the alien).

I remember I had this ship terror mission with calcinites lately and I had to fight three of them in a balcony with two soldiers. They rushed me (but ran out of TUs so they couldn't attack). I killed one and could not see the one behind it (and I knew it was there because I watched him during the alien turn). I had to go in a circle around the alien's square so that my soldier could see the alien.

I have repeatedly sucked on this "invisibility" problem in the 2*2 rooms, and what's worse, there were (night) missions where I walked some distance, seen nothing, but when looked in the same direction I was already facing, I spotted aliens :whatwhat: (found out by reloading in annoyance). Also, in the "cargo" type shipping routes there is at least one corridor that you can "see" from one end to the other (lifting fog of war), but you can only spot the alien about 5 squares from yourself (and they seem to see perfectly in these conditions :cussing: ).

jep, sounds about right. They should really fix the respawn points, i saw one getting stuck in the cafeteria.

Those biodrones! They like to hide in closets (also check the freezer behind the boxes!) in close quarters. I think i lost 2-3 men in the upper level. And the rest when i got down under :P

Whenever I have this problem where I can't find the last alien (sometimes there's more than one last alien ^^) I use xcomutil to switch sides with the aliens so I can look at their positions in all peace and quietness. Then they always turn up in places I've already sweeped (stunned and woken up) or half inside objects and thus somehow limiting their visibility by quite a few squares.

X-com turn 3,896

 *faints*

I can't remember ever getting above 100 turns. I may have been climbing towards 100 on missions where I couldn't find the last alien but even then I don't think I ever hit 100.

3896?!?! How many times did you curse on that one? :D

Hmmm. I recently had an invisible alien in an artefact site mission. I was aiming for a full sweep, and I actually got there, except for the stupid aquatoid that decided it was time to turn invisible.

I checked all the usual aquatoid places, did another full sweep of the entire map, set guards on possible patrol locations (although aquatoids are not known to patrol, especially in colony missions), yet I could find nothing.

I ended up blasting the device and getting the heck out of there.

I'm sure the aquatoid was cackling madly with delight and waving me goodbye as I left without any equipment or zrbite at all...

Happens to me. But i have been on the second level, and only after searching every room :huff: i finaly find it on the first level in the middle of a room I got to turn 895 once. And haha, I am 12. :D My birthday is in October. Also, I know how to program a little bit, but not enouph to help this project at all. I need to know more about it, but i can't find anything. Perhaps someone else can find me. (sorry, but my ego got carried away) Edited by blehm
