Jaws Of Death!

Recommended Posts

I am a volunteer fireman and I have a very usefull tool here for fighting aliens.

Your basic Self Contained Rescue Tool (SCRT). Highly portable Jaws of Life that are battery powered and can rip apart lots of metal and tuff things.

Here is the Halmatro website for hte SCRT:

I just used a similar tool to cut up a 70s dodge car last night, we had it in 8 pieces in about 20 minutes.

What these would be great for if you were raiding a UFO would be to force open doors and walls when you cant aford the colateral damage that a blaster bomb or explosives would cause. Being portable (but heavy, trust me, I know) enough to take with you as you enter the confined spaces of a UFO, you would have your master key and door maker with you and not have to worry about blowing yourself up by fireing explosives off when you are standing down the hall.

As hand to hand weapon it would be very limited in the hands of a un-power armor person. But, imagine power armor and one of these... anybody familiar with Terminators from Warhammer 40k?

Terminators are know for raiding Space Hulks, giant conglomerations of basicly UFOs that are drifting through space. They use chain fists and power fists (similar in a way to this concept) to force doors... and in close combat. Sounds a bit like raiding a UFO does it not?

Another use would be on terror mission. I loved the tactic in Xcom of staying in the buildings as much as possible, useing my laser weapons to bore holes in walls to allow access to the next building. This tool could be used for that.

How about a SCRT souped up on alien technology?

Are weapons going to blow giant holes in walls? I can see how grenade launchers, rockets, cannons, etc could take down sections of walls. But I dont think that lasers or plasma guns shoul blow big holes, more like small holes.

Anyway, I think it would be an interesting peice of equipment to have available. Not so much as a weapon, but as a way to employ new tactics. And after all, explosives do the same thing, but they are only good for one use.

I would love to see something like that. "Come here you little unarmed sectoid! I won't hurt you! <to self: the Jaws will!>"

Of course, to cut the alien alloy, it would probably have to have an elerium generator.

Yeah, that would be cool, SCRT mark II, the alien tech upgrade.

Alien alloy jaws/cutter, E 115 power pack (no more heavy batteries to carry), faster operation, maybe better for a HtH weapon if you are power armored.

Some further thoughts.

It should take a while to cut through a bulkhead or force a door in a UFO. That would be the trade off from explosive charges.

The SCRT could cut through door/bulkhead at a slower rate, but it is reusable and maybe more stealthy.

The explosives, well we all know how they work from Xcom.

Here is another cool fire service weapon, er, I mean tool!

The Pro-Saw/Cut Off Saw can cut virtually any material - brick, steel, concrete. You name it, we can cut it. The perfect fire service saw. Ergonomically designed to work in confined spaces. Light weight and powerful for easy and safer operation. Built tough to meet your rugged demands.

Highest Power to Weight Ratio

Ergonomically Designed Half Wrap Handle

Large D-Ring for Easy Starting

Superior Torque & Lower Emissions

Advanced 5-Stage Air Filtration System

That could make working your way through urban terrain a snap.
