Steam version of Xcom + seb's loader

Hi guys,

I tried having a look through the forum for this but I havent seen anything specific to the steam version of the game along with this mod/patch/loader.

I run the ufoloader and it switches to fullscreen but fails to display any graphics although I can hear the sound from the intro loading.

I know that steam runs it through dosbox but the ufo loader doesnt want to load up in dos.

Any suggestions guys?

At least in my testing version of X-COM from steam, the gold executable is included. In my system, it's found here: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\xcom ufo defense\XCOM. Dump Seb's loader in there and you should be good to go. :)

Yeah im doing that and it starts up but the intro just doesnt play. Launching it from Steam works fine.

I am, however, running Windows 7 x64 just now. Might that be problematic?

Thanks for the help so far, Zombie.

[Edit]

If I apply the graphics fix for Vista it loads and plays but the graphics are garbled and flash the wrong colours etc etc.

Possibly. Have you tried applying Blade's Vista Patch? Not sure if that's compatible, but I'd give it a shot nonetheless. :)

Ah yes,

That was the 'graphics fix' I tried for it. Not sure why that stuck with me rather than the proper name for it though!

It's a shame, I was loving it with xcomutil and its great. But UFOExtender would have been the icing on the cake!

Time to steal my laptop back from my parents and test it on that methinks.

Thanks again.
