Cd-rom Crash

For some odd reason, whenever I play X-Com: Interceptor, something bizarre happens and my CD-ROM dies.

I went through 2 CD-ROM drives before I just plain quit playing the game. It was most irritating.

Of course, that was on my LAST computer... will it do the same to this computer?

*looks at computer and sees CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, and CD-RW* If it does, it won't be a total loss. ;)

it actually destroys your CD drive? I wouldn't take the risk in that case :)

It definitely shoudln't do that, I suppose it is probably something to do with drivers or software being moved, rewritten or just plain deleted :D

In any case, why don't you find an alternative copy, maybe it is corrupted or has a virus on it or something.

Actually, what would happen is the motor would stop spinning. This happened to two different drives on an older computer. I haven't used the older comp in aeons at this point, but at the same time... I haven't had a real reason to go back to Interceptor.

Never fear, though, I'll play it again. I just have to decide whether to play it before or after I attempt Apocalypse. haha

If worse comes to worse, I just get a virtual CD-ROM program, and copy all the files to the Virtual CD-ROM and problem solved. Edited by Chris StarShade
