    I got a degree in web design / programming and I'm currently studying mechanical engineering while trying to fit some website work in the schedule...<br />My specialities are usability, web standards compliance, css and server side scripting, and... hmm... let's just say I like to design stuff.<br /><br />I usually spend some spare time making ufo2000 a better place while learning C++.<br /><br />Other than that, I love camping, mountain bike, snowboarding (which I never get to do as much as I'd like... $$), wing-chun kune (that's close quarter kung-fu), hiking, and kayak... if only I could own one...<br /><br />Hope this was interesting, now go do something useful...

  2. About the sound, we broke support with the dumb library but do not have a replacement in yet. You can fix it by installing the old dumb library and calling : make dumbogg=1
  3. There is one, look for the useXcomGfx flag in the options or the ini file.
  4. This version could be the most stable we got since a long time ago ! Bug with panicking units is fixed. (Turn count & crash problem). Bug when opponent leaves the game early is fixed. (Assert 417 of multiplay). Added a nice user-friendly alert when opponent leaves the game. Upgrade greatly recommended.

  8. For the news : This bug just got fixed in 1104. It works for hotseat, multiplayer is harder to verify but it should work the same. As I said : One down.
  9. Intri is right, this should not make any difference as it is a win32 executable. AMD64 and i386 are CPU architectures used to compile, I got an AMD CPU and this info is for the very unlikely case where CPUs would cause problems. BTW : it will be 1103, I had to bump the version for game server. Also, before people start complaining, I added a beta-dumb package that supports the deprecated DUMB library for music playback.

  12. Hey Everyone, I think the website could use more interesting images. I would like to have the best screenshots you've got. Those that really depict the game well. Criteria is pretty loose except for one thing: - As little copyrighted art as possible, none is better (user created map and tiles (dawn city, burbs) and new cursors, transparent smoke, new units etc.) - Interesting graphically. - You like how it looks. Reward is the best will go up on the official website, credits under the picture. Thanks for your interest and happy screenies !
  13. Looks like the statistics generator fails halfway, probably it gets some unexpected data from the server database. Problem solved. Statistics generation script bugfix committed to SVN in rev 1089 Thanks Serge, that gives a very good idea of what problems should be solved in priority.
  14. You should check that the purple pixels are either fully transparent or fully opaque. As far as I know the unit sprites do not support 8bit alpha and show odd colors like these if the pixel has intermediate transparency, PNGs for units should only have 1bit alphas.
  15. Where do those purple pixels occur and can you send in a screenshot?
