[[Micah]]
Sorry... I just looked the other day, and there were only 3 left...
Breunor
The free-cdsoftware.com sire is selling the titles for only the cost of shipping now, too bad it's not the collector's edition.
[[Micah]]
.... which basically makes it worthless to most people
miceless
They could do that so that they own a legal version, and the they could aquire one of the not so legal versions. Stupid, and maybe not actually legal, but that would be one (strange) way to go about it. Ill shut up now.

Breunor
Actually the DOS versions aren't worthless, there's an open source app called DOSbox IIRC that emulates DOS on machines that don't have it. Maybe that would let you play, but I don't know how direct hardware access would work...
[[Micah]]
Actually, according to Dosbox's homepage, none of the xcom games are supported at this time (meaning that they won't run with dosbox).

LordT
I did, but it was some half-year or so back. I'm don't remember if I even got DOSBox itself to work.
j'ordos
Well, I got the dos version to 'work' in winXP without doing anything, but without sound/music, it crashes when placing first base and when moving soldier out of the skyranger, runs too fast and not fixable with turbo (strange : some parts of the game run WAY too fast, while others run very slow if I use turbo) so I'd rather use the CE <!--emo&--><!--endemo-->It doesn't run with dosbox, tested it. It just quits. But maybe I'm doing something wrong, didn't test it long... Edited August 5, 2003 by j'ordos

miceless
Is it a problem with this forum only, or the whole site i wonder? EDIT: I have had no problems anywhere else, and it seems to still be working in a couple of forums I just tested.
