Mind Controlling Your Own Troops

Hmmm, how about "his brain would pop!"

Seriously though, It sure would be nice, but it still gives you a way to lose soldiers later in-game... Maybe just explaining it a bit more, so that the player would not feel it's only a cheap trick...

Then again, why the heck do we lose a soldier if he's MCed in the last round of combat ... If we kill the alien, should'nt our guy return to normal??

I agree in all posts:

You should be able to Mind control your troops back.

But doing so would be a "Double control", and might make the soldier "confused". (and just drain all Time units to think it all over again)

Also, killing the alien who controlled the troop should release the hold, especially if that's the last alien in the mission.

Whoever has the highest psi skill (alien controller or human double-controller) should get control of the target, with the loser backing off. Think about it, that's the logical way. If a soldier is powerful enough to push past an alien's hold and control a unit, then he/she should also be able to reject the alien's mind.

That's a valid point Tsereve. I think of it as whichever one, human or alien, had the highest defense value with Psi, though with any form of Psi attack its about the skill. That skill level has to bypass that relevant defense value.

Anyway, I understand the logic that if its your turn and you've got yourself a unit on the alien's side, you ought to have the time on your turn to reverse that (or attempt to anyway). I mean, even if mind control here was the hardest form of attack to pull off, I'd certainly settle for trying to panic the unit. Maybe it'd drop its weapon and run rather than bezerk and shoot randomly, but that's the fun part. Some unpredictablility should factor in still with that regard.

I had that happen a couple of times, and that's something I couldn't understand. How is it that they can keep your unit under their control an entire round yet you could always pull off a Psi attack attempt on any other enemy unit? Not looking for things to be easy mind you, just want to understand the logic of that is all.
