How do you get to that screen in the first place?

:D

No, I mean the part of the inventory screen that writes out that thing about "improvements" and stuff. Normally I just get a screen that shows stats like strength.

Oh, that, you can see that window by clicking on the little red arrow in the upper left corner, next to the "X-Com" logo.

Improvement is just the percentage increase of a soldiers stats. I dont think androids do improve (and just to clarify the picture you showed was of a human soldier not an android but you probably knew that). If you have the midnight editor they can improve (I think).

My androids ive had for ages, all they get are shiny medals but no improvement.

The androids that have these tiny improvement values haven't really earned any stats (with the possible exception of the mind shield 'feature'). The game must be keeping track of some other stats that get counted towards improvements.

You may want to check this screen in both the cityscape and during a battlescape mission to see if they match up. I've had occasions where androids have a minor improvement percentage in one, but not the other.

Maybe androids gain experience in battlescape like humans, but they lose it all after the mission is over, which would explain the difference between battlescape and cityscape stats?
