uncy
Hey dear X-Com fan community I have seen comments around the forum, talking about bugs, imbalances, abuses, exploits, etc. I am really interested in playing that "Balanced" game once in my lifetime. Xcomutil gives a lot of fun to the game, but I think there are still some points missing... Could you give me your suggestions to balance a regular X-Com game, I will start with some of my own suggestions. Simple changes (just by editing files):- lower selling prices, specially alien equip.- modify some Routes in alien ships, perhaps add new ones (for those of us who know every spawn position) and missions.- remove autofire from heavy plasma- improve aircraft weapons- repair some production costs and ingredients, such as elerium. More complicated changes (needing an application between Geoscape.exe and Tactical.exe)- Units sorting, and names related to stats. these are just some few ideas, please comment! emphyrio
well..I don;t know what you mean by balanced, but if you want a challenge, your ideas seem ok. I would add the following:-decrease range of skyranger and interceptor (to approx 400-500), and also for the more advanced craft-decrease damage and strength of armaments of craftthis means that you cannot have global coverage with 1 base, so you need to expand early on (which changes the economics of the game considerably), and makes intercepts more difficult
[stewart]
You know this forum website actually began as "Suggest your changes to Xcom" blog. There are tons of similar such threads. Maybe some industrious hardworking Zombie might combine them.
