Battlescape Panel Question & Music Bugs

One question and one-and-a-half bug here, using 0.7.1062 on win xp:

On maybe v0.7.1031 (don't know 100% exactly, sorry) the game had the classic xcom battlescape control panel, making it a bit easier to use (bigger buttons, of course more familiar than the grey-blueish ufo2k graphics and symbols). Was it changed out of copyright reasons? I liked it..

The bugs are that the music volume slider doesn't affect the actual playing volume; even setting it to 0 will have no effect, music will continue playing. Furthermore the sound gets choppy / repeats a small fraction of it as long as a weapons action menu (snap shot / auto shot etc.) is open. I didn't find these on the bug tracker so i thought i would mention them here.

Apart from these minor things, keep up the fantastic work, guys! =b

I think in the options you can select "use classic Xcom grphics" and that will make the menu old-school style after you restart UFO2k.

Same goes for the music, set it to 0, exit, start ufo2k and voila, no music.

I have a 466MHz laptop, so my music gets choppy too, no problems on my 1.8GHz box though. Besides, I turned off music a while ago :)

Hehe, seems like i just forgot the 'restart ufo2k' bit. Much better now.. *blushes*

The choppyness nevertheless still exists on this 1,5GHz machine, it's only noticeable on the music though. Since i as well prefer to play it 'fx only' it doesn't disturb that much now. Thank you!

its probably somthing else, ufo2k runs fine on virtual (100% transparant glass test map) on a p200 fine. I'd assume theres somthing up with your sound device?

EDIT: with no skipping afaik not even in the area you mentioned.

Hmm, seems to be true. The problem could not be reproduced on one of the test machines, a p2/266 Notebook. [edit: This one will just play the music a little choppy from time to time while scrolling over the map.] More exact benchmarks will follow soon. BTW. i am the guy who tested this great game on worst-case hardware, this machine and a terribly default p200 - without music in both cases..

Stuttering during the switch from fullscreen -> windowed or vice versa is quite common.

The machine seemingly just repeating a small buffer while in weapons menu (the 1,5GHz thingy) uses nforce2 onboard sound. I can exclude general problems since other games do work pretty well soundwise and the pc is used to create music.
