Puasonen
I installed ufo2000 and all those files but now I only have ufo2000 folder in my ufo folder. The game hasn't changed a bit! ? EDIT:ufo 2000 folder doesn't contain any program files (.exe .bat) Edited August 20, 2003 by Nyyperoid
j'ordos
Then you did something wrong. It contains 'ufo2000.exe', download it again. You have to put it in you xcom directory (eg : c:\games\xcom1), NOT in a subdirectory, unless you copy the following directories to that subdir : GEODATA GEOGRAPH MAPS SOUND TERRAIN UFOGRAPH UFOINTRO UNITS. And don't forget the 'SAMPLE.CAT's'
Puasonen
Downloaded the package, extracted it with winzip to D:\pelit\xcom (that's the xcom game folder) It made there a new folder, 'Ufo2000 v306' or something. That folder contains only .dat and .txt files and one .ico file + more folders wich doesn't contain any progfiles either.. K, I'll download and unzip again then. Serge
Looks like you have downloaded zip file with the sources. Unless you can compile them yourself, they are useless for you. The file you need is either ufo2000-0.3.60-win32.zip (the latest stable version compiled for windows) or ufo2000-r230-win32.zip (the latest development version compiled for windows). BTW, the latest development version can use sounds from both DOS and CE versions of X-COM, so you will not have problems with .cat files using the development version. Had the wrong version downloaded, didn't look, just downloaded the first and hoped a gg. Now it works BUT:I choose the hotseat game, there comes a screen where you can choose a map and a place for your soldiers in the map (Billy Gates, Bill Clinton, Jennifer Lopez..) But that's all I can't get forward! What should I do to get to the next step? Means that my friend could choose his places for soldiers/aliens/whatever? And again next step to the game? BTW, there is readme.txt file included, I hope it will answer most of your questions.
